A court in Shanghai has suspended proceedings in a lawsuit brought by Proview Technology (Shenzen) against Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) for infringing Proview’s claim to the iPad trademark. The suspension comes as a higher court in Guangdong prepares to hear the case next week.

Proview (Shenzen) claims that Apple did not acquire the mainland rights to the iPad trademark when it reached an agreement with Proview’s Taiwanese parent.
