Curiosity about the latest update to the iPhone from Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) is reaching a heightened level following the posting of a video today at TheVerge, purporting to show the rear panel of the new phone. The site had a short video last week from a Japanese web site that showed a new, larger front panel.

The back panel shown in the latest video includes a smaller recharging slot and a headphone outlet moved from the top of the device to the bottom. The videos also indicate that the new iPhone will have a 4-inch screen.

The intense interest in Apple’s new iPhone will likely only increase as an expected September launch date gets nearer. There has been speculation that the company will introduce the new iPhone at next week’s World Wide Developer’s Conference, but that seems unlikely for a variety of reasons. Apple fanboys will just have to wait a bit longer.
