The stock market is up Thursday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 1.24%, the Nasdaq up 1.32% and the S&P 500 up 1.04%. Today’s winner will be taken private, while today’s loser sees problems in future quarters, although this quarter’s financials were strong.

This is Thursday’s market winner and loser.

Biggest Winner

Shares of JDA Software Group Inc. (NASDAQ: JDAS) are up 17.40% to $44.79 on trading volume of 20.4 million shares. The company agreed to be bought out by rival RedPrarie, a private company, for $45 a share, or about $1.9 billion. Before Thursday, the 52-week high was $38.20.

Biggest Loser

Shares of Cirrus Logic Inc. (NASDAQ: CRUS) are down 13.78% to $35.16 on trading volume of 7.6 million shares. While the semiconductor supplier reported better than expected second-quarter financial results and raised their third-quarter guidance, the company said modeling revenue for the quarter after that would be down 15% and gross margins would be crimped. The 52-week low is $14.26.
