The 52-Week Low Club for Thursday

October 9, 2014: Thursday has been a tough day for equities. We’ve already covered in more detail three stocks that have fallen to new lows today: Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE: ALU); Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (NYSE: AMD); and Zynga Inc. (NASDAQ: ZNGA). Here are four more stocks among the 350 equities making new 52-week lows today:

3D Sytems Corp. (NYSE: DDD) dropped about 4.8% Thursday to a new 52-week low of $40.58 after closing at $42.62 on Wednesday evening. Share volume is about 20% below the daily average of around 3 million. The 3D printer maker had no news today.

Energy XXI (Bermuda) Ltd. (NASDAQ: EXXI) dropped about 19.7% today to post a 52-week low of $8.02. The stock’s 52-week high is $33.93. The independent oil and gas producer had no news today, but energy stocks were beaten up harder than any other sector today. Trading volume is about 4-times the daily average of around 3.7 million shares traded.

News Corporation (NASDAQ: NWSA) sank to a new 52-week low on Thursday of $15.37. Based on Wednesday night’s closing price of $15.98 that’s a drop of about 3.8%. The stock’s 52-week high is $18.53. Trading volume is about 40% higher than the daily average of around 3.5 million shares. The company had no specific news today.

The Wendy’s Co. (NASDAQ: WEN) posted a drop of about 2.5% today to a new 52-week low of $7.82 against a 52-week high of $10.27. Volume is about 40% below the daily average of around 4.8 million shares. The company had no specific news today.
