The 52-Week Low Club for Wednesday

June 10, 2015: Here are four stocks among the 52 equities making new 52-week lows today.

Alcoa Inc. (NYSE: AA) dropped about 0.4% on Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $12.14 after closing at $12.19 on Tuesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $17.75. Share volume topped 13 million shares, about 60% of the daily average of nearly 25 million. The company had no specific news today, but this is the third consecutive new low for the shares.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE: WMT) dropped about 0.2% on Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $72.34 after closing at $72.47 on Tuesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $90.97. Share volume exceeded 9 million, more than a third higher than the daily average of around 7.1 million shares traded. The company had no specific news today.

Senior Housing Properties Trust (NYSE: SNH) posted a new 52-week low on Wednesday. Shares dropped about 2.4% to $17.71 from Tuesday’s closing price of $18.15. The stock’s 52-week high is $24.50. Volume totaled about 8.2 million shares, nearly 4-times the daily average of around 2.3 million shares. The REIT had no news today, but shares have posted a new low on four of five trading days since June 3rd.

Penn Virginia Corp. (NYSE: PVA) dropped about 4.4% on Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $4.32 against a 52-week high of $17.27. The stock closed at $4.52 on Tuesday night. Volume totaled over 3 million shares, in line with the daily average of around 3.8 million shares. The company had no specific news today, but the stock is off more than 20% in the last month.
