Prediction: Is It Too Late to Buy Palantir Stock?

Palantir has shed nearly a third of its value from recent highs while its operating story accelerates, and that contradiction sets up one of the more interesting risk-reward debates in AI stocks right now.

Palantir (NASDAQ:PLTR | PLTR Price Prediction) has become one of the market’s most polarizing AI names. After a brutal drawdown from December 2025 highs, the question is whether the setup favors buyers again.

Our 24/7 Wall St. price target for Palantir is $156.15 over the next 12 months, implying 27.03% upside from the July 24 close of $122.92. My recommendation is buy, with a 90% confidence level.

A Growth Story Priced Like a Setback

Palantir is down 30.85% year to date and 20.63% over the past year, trading roughly 12% below the 52-week high of $207.52, which clashes with the operating story.

Q1 FY2026 revenue hit $1.63 billion, growing 84.7% YoY, while U.S. commercial revenue jumped 133% and free cash flow reached $925 million. Management raised full-year 2026 revenue guidance to $7.65 to $7.662 billion, roughly 71% growth, with CEO Alex Karp putting the Rule of 40 score at 145%.

The Case for $200 and Higher

Our bull-case 12-month target sits at $201.23, a 63.71% return. The Street’s mean target is $182.20, backed by 18 Buy and 2 Strong Buy ratings. The bull thesis rests on AIP scaling into a demand-constrained U.S. commercial market.

U.S. commercial remaining deal value ended Q1 at $4.92 billion, up 112% YoY. If the FY2026 guide of $4.2 to $4.4 billion in adjusted free cash flow holds, the current multiple looks less absurd than a static snapshot suggests.

The Risks Worth Watching

Our bear-case 12-month path lands at $138.02, still a 12.29% gain but a warning that valuation risk is real. Palantir trades at a trailing P/E of 138 and a forward P/E of 84. Stock-based compensation hit $201.6 million in Q1, with 70 recent insider transactions in net selling.

Bulls counter that GAAP net income of $871 million in the same quarter absorbs the dilution, and insider selling by long-tenured employees often reflects diversification rather than a fundamental concern.

How Palantir Compares to Snowflake and ServiceNow

Snowflake (NYSE:SNOW) is the closest data-platform peer, but remains GAAP unprofitable while Palantir grows faster and prints real GAAP profit, justifying a premium multiple.

ServiceNow (NYSE:NOW) is the enterprise AI platform benchmark. Palantir’s Rule of 40 score of 145% and accelerating growth make our $156.15 target reasonable relative to this peer set.

The Palantir Setup and a Plan

My 24/7 Wall St. price target of $156.15 assumes Palantir executes on the AIP flywheel and the U.S. commercial guide of at least $3.224 billion.

The setup looks constructive for investors who can stomach volatility, with any dip toward the 52-week low of $106.37 potentially serving as an accumulation zone. The thesis weakens if Q2 growth decelerates below 70% or if federal budget pressure clips government revenue.

Palantir Price Prediction 2026-2030

Here is where our 24/7 Wall St. price target model projects Palantir could trade in the coming years, anchored to the base-case five-year target of $246.79.

Year 24/7 Wall St. Price Target
2026 $156

These projections assume Palantir executes on AIP monetization and defense demand stays intact. Meaningful upside or downside could come from Maven expansion, AI regulation changes, or federal budget compression.
