Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK-B | BRK-B Price Prediction) moved fast into a homebuilder Wall Street has turned against. Per TipRanks, Berkshire bought $212.4 million of Lennar (NYSE:LEN) stock, over 2.7 million shares, between September 17 and September 21, 2026, at weighted-average prices from $74.80 to $79.41. GuruFocus reported a follow-on purchase of $136.4 million, bringing recent buying to over $348 million.

Why Berkshire’s Buying Is Visible Within Days

Berkshire’s Form 4 filings list Berkshire Hathaway Inc as a 10% Owner of Lennar. Crossing 10% of a company triggers a disclosure duty, so a buyer that normally shows up once a quarter now appears within days. Per GuruFocus, the stake stands at roughly 25.9 million shares worth about $2.1 billion. CNBC reported the threshold crossing on September 22, 2026.

Six Trading Days of Filed Purchases

Every Form 4 transaction is an acquisition. Selected lots, Class A unless noted:

  • September 17: 410,164 shares at $79.41; 267,585 at $78.41
  • September 18: 1,218,429 shares at $76.39; 33,122 Class B at $74.80
  • September 21: 483,809 shares at $77.97
  • September 23: 532,993 shares at $81.65
  • September 24: 399,238 shares at $80.58; 241,692 at $81.44
  • September 25: 313,379 shares at $80.90; 171,723 at $81.60

The TipRanks band of $74.80 to $79.41 matches these filings exactly, so the reporting and the primary source agree. The latest filed purchase, dated September 25, 2026, shows the campaign was still running three days ago.

Who Made the Call

Greg Abel became Berkshire’s chief executive earlier in 2026, and Ted Weschler, a longtime Berkshire portfolio manager, controls about 6% of Berkshire’s portfolio, according to The Motley Fool.

Warren Buffett stepped down as chairman on September 18, 2026, followed by his son Howard Buffett. The largest single Class A lot closed that same day.
