Ripple (XRP) Price Prediction 2030: What Has to Happen for XRP to Hit $5, $10 and $28

XRP sits nearly 60% below its 2025 peak, yet analysts are throwing out targets as high as $28 by 2030. Each price level demands a completely different version of what XRP and its ecosystem would have to become.

XRP (CRYPTO:XRP) is trading around $1.40 on September 14, 2026, roughly 25% below its 2026 opening price and well below its July 2025 high near $3.66. That puts $5, $10, and $28 among the main XRP price targets for 2030, but each requires a different level of growth and demand. The question is what would need to change for XRP to sustain each of those valuations by 2030.

Three Targets for XRP by 2030

The three XRP targets represent increasingly demanding outcomes by 2030. At $5, XRP would be valued at about $314 billion based on roughly 62.7 billion circulating tokens, while $10 would put its market capitalization near $627 billion. The $28 target is in a different category, implying a valuation of roughly $1.76 trillion at today’s circulating supply.

What XRP Needs to Reach $5

Moving from $1.40 to $5 would require a 257% gain, or about 37.6% annualized over four years. The target becomes more credible if XRP can reclaim its 2025 high near $3.66 while ETF ownership continues to grow and demand absorbs new supply.

U.S. spot XRP ETFs hold about 1.5-1.7% of the coin’s supply, and for $5 to have a stronger demand base, that share would need to move toward 4% to 5%, alongside continued buying from the broader crypto market. Regulatory clarity also helps, with the SEC and CFTC now classifying XRP as a digital commodity in the United States.

Ripple can release up to 1 billion XRP from escrow each month, though much of the unlocked supply returns to escrow. A sustainable move to $5 therefore requires XRP to break above its previous high while ETF demand and other buying consistently absorb the supply entering circulation.

What XRP Needs to Reach $10

At $10, XRP would have a market capitalization of roughly $627 billion based on 62.7 billion tokens in circulation. Reaching that valuation would require more than ETF demand and another crypto bull market because investors would need evidence that XRP itself is gaining value from growing activity on the XRP Ledger.

The proposed institutional lending system from Clearpool and Cicada Partners is one development to watch. It would use RLUSD, Ripple’s dollar-backed stablecoin, for working-capital loans to fintech and payments companies on the XRP Ledger, with XRP used for network fees and account requirements. The project depends on the XLS-65 and XLS-66 amendments, which still require validator approval.

That could increase activity on the ledger, but it doesn’t automatically create strong demand for XRP because RLUSD would be the asset used for the loans. For $10 to become realistic, lending, stablecoin transfers, payments, and other XRPL activity would need to grow enough to create sustained demand for XRP alongside continued ETF buying.

What XRP Needs to Reach $28

At $28, XRP would have a market capitalization of roughly $1.76 trillion based on today’s circulating supply, putting it above Bitcoin’s current valuation of about $1.55 trillion. That makes Standard Chartered’s target fundamentally different from $5 or $10 because XRP would need to become one of the two largest crypto assets by market capitalization.

David Schwartz, Ripple’s CTO Emeritus, said he believes XRP could eventually overtake Bitcoin by market capitalization, though he gave neither a price target nor a timeline and based his argument on XRP growing faster than Bitcoin. At Bitcoin’s current market capitalization, XRP would need to reach roughly $24.50 to match it using today’s supply.

For XRP to reach $28, the crypto market would likely need to expand significantly while XRP captures a much larger share. Standard Chartered’s case rests on growing institutional adoption, ETF demand, regulatory clarity, and greater use of XRP in financial infrastructure, rather than another speculative rally alone.

XRP Has Recovered From Deep Drawdowns Before

XRP’s history provides a reason to consider a large move, but it does not make one inevitable. The token experienced an extraordinary rally during the 2017 cycle, climbing from fractions of a cent to an all-time high near $3.84 in January 2018. It later fell sharply and stayed below that peak for years. XRP eventually returned above $3.60 in July 2025 before falling back toward the $1.30 to $1.40 range in September 2026.

That history shows XRP can make enormous percentage moves during major crypto cycles. It does not establish a reliable four-year pattern, however, because the sample is too small and each cycle has different liquidity, regulation, market structure, and adoption conditions. The more useful historical test is whether XRP can reclaim its previous high and hold above it. Until XRP clears roughly $3.66 to $3.84, depending on the price source used for the prior record, the market has not established a new long-term high.

Which XRP Target Is Most Realistic by 2030?

The gap between $5 and $28 is more than a price difference. Each target requires XRP to reach a different level of demand and market value by 2030. At $5, XRP mainly needs another strong market cycle, continued ETF demand, and enough buying to absorb new supply. At $10, the case requires stronger evidence that XRP is gaining demand from activity on the XRP Ledger alongside institutional adoption.

The $28 target requires a much bigger shift. XRP would need to approach or surpass Bitcoin’s market capitalization and become one of the two largest crypto assets. David Schwartz has said he believes an XRP flip of Bitcoin is possible, but he gave no price target or timeline. Key milestones include ETF holdings, circulating supply, XRPL activity, and XRP’s market-cap ranking. If those metrics improve alongside price, $5 becomes easier to justify, $10 requires stronger adoption, and $28 remains a bet on XRP becoming one of crypto’s dominant assets.
