AI Price Prediction: We Asked 3 AI Models What Chainlink Could Be Worth by 2028
Three AI models gave Chainlink price targets for 2028, and while two landed above $25, the reasoning behind the outlier forecast may be the most convincing of all.

Chainlink (CRYPTO: LINK) is trading at about $12.36. Three AI models—ChatGPT, Grok, and Claude—each predict that by 2028, LINK’s price could roughly double, putting the $25 mark at the forefront of any Chainlink price prediction. This represents a gain of nearly 102%, especially notable since the token is currently 76.5% below its all-time high of $52.70 reached in May 2021.
Over the two weeks leading up to October 20, LINK fluctuated between $11.52 and $14.04 and closed with a 14-day Relative Strength Index (RSI) of 30—suggesting selling pressure may be peaking. By comparison, Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) trades around $83,316, while Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) sits at about$2,461. The pressing question remains: Can Chainlink exceed $25 before the end of 2028?
Three AI Models Predict Chainlink Could Double by 2028

| Model | End-2026 Price Range | End-2026 Most Likely | End-2028 Price Range | End-2028 Most Likely | Chance Above $25 | Value of 1,000 LINK in 2028 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Grok | $9.80 to $16.40 | $13.75 | $8.50 to $34 | $22.40 | 52% | $22,400 |
| ChatGPT | $8 to $18 | $14 | $10 to $45 | $28 | 55% | $28,000 |
| Claude | $9 to $18 | $13.50 | $8 to $45 | $24 | 45% | $24,000 |
If LINK reached $25, it would have a market capitalization of about $19.2 billion, based on its circulating supply of 766.8 million coins. Currently, its market value stands at roughly $9.5 billion, placing it 16th among cryptocurrencies.
However, Chainlink also has unreleased tokens that complicate matters. With a maximum supply capped at 1 billion LINK, each new token entering circulation requires a higher total valuation for LINK to reach $25. Even now, its fully diluted market value sits around $12.4 billion, reflecting the current price.
LINK last traded above $25 in September 2025, peaking at $25.65 a month after hitting $27.87 in August 2025.
Revenue from On-Chain Activity Could Influence LINK’s Price by 2028

All three AI models agree that Chainlink’s future price largely hinges on its on-chain activity turning into revenue that leads to LINK purchases in the open market. Headlines about new partnerships matter most when they result in buying pressure.
For example, on October 19, Archax started using Chainlink Data Streams—a fast price feed—to price GOVY, its tokenized U.S. Treasury product, for on-chain lending and collateral. Tokenized Treasuries are essentially government bonds represented on the blockchain.
On October 16, another company, Pacific Meta, implemented CCIP, Chainlink’s solution for transferring tokens and data between different blockchains. It also listed Chainlink’s Automated Compliance Engine, which automates compliance rules for tokenization in Japan. Notably, about $2 billion in total value is locked—meaning money deposited in smart contracts—connected to Chainlink.
The Chainlink Reserve is essential in linking this business activity to the token itself. It accumulates LINK from off-chain revenue generated by enterprises and service fees related to on-chain activities. Moreover, Payment Abstraction converts those earnings into LINK, meaning transactions made in other tokens still create demand for LINK. This consistent buying pressure is critical for connecting Chainlink’s business model to its market price.
Where ChatGPT, Grok and Claude Split on $25

ChatGPT takes the most optimistic stance, projecting a likely 2028 price of $28 and a 55% chance LINK will exceed $25. It views LINK as a speculative long-term investment tied to the infrastructure behind tokenized assets. In contrast, Grok leans on LINK’s volatility, estimating a 2028 close at $22.40—below $25—but maintains a 52% chance of a temporary rise to $25 because LINK tends to swing significantly.
Claude offers a more bearish outlook, with a 45% chance of reaching $25, citing Chainlink’s historical underperformance versus Bitcoin and Ethereum during market recoveries. Additionally, it notes that enterprise partnerships can sometimes bypass public markets for token purchases.
One-year performance supports this view: LINK fell 29.8% versus Bitcoin’s 23.4% drop, though it rose 46.2% over the last 90 days, outperforming both major cryptocurrencies.
The downside forecasts share a common risk: while Chainlink could thrive as a business, the token may not see a corresponding price increase in a weak crypto market. Grok’s pessimistic projection is $7.10, Claude’s is $8, and ChatGPT anticipates a range between $4 and $6, with $5 as the worst case. LINK traded as low as $7 in June 2026.
Can Chainlink Trade Above $25 Before 2028 Ends?
We believe LINK is just below 50% likely to surpass $25 before the end of 2028, leaning more toward Claude’s 45% than ChatGPT’s 55%. While the models’ reasoning is solid, reaching $25 would require a substantial increase in LINK’s valuation, despite Bitcoin’s current dominance of 59.6%, which could limit growth opportunities for smaller cryptocurrencies.
To approach $25, LINK first needs to reclaim its recent high of $14.04 and then break above its September peak of $15.77. Continued reserve buying, alongside partnerships like Archax and Pacific Meta, will be crucial to building upward momentum. A monthly close above $15.77 could bolster ChatGPT’s bullish view, while a close below the June low near $7 might bring Claude’s downside scenario closer to reality.
