Sui (CRYPTO:SUI), Chainlink (CRYPTO:LINK), Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH), and Cardano (CRYPTO:ADA) each need to gain 100% to double their value. ChatGPT’s price estimates suggest they have very different timelines for achieving this goal. Although all four cryptocurrencies have grown over the last 30 days, they still trade at least 50% below their all-time highs, leaving room to double. So, which crypto could double first?

As of October 15, 2026, Sui was priced at $1.04, up 49.2% from the previous month, but it remains 80.6% below its January 2025 record. Chainlink traded at about $12.50 after a 13% monthly gain, yet it remains 76.2% below its May 2021 peak. Ethereum traded at $2,459, up just 2.1% over the last 30 days and 50.3% below its August 2025 record high of $4,946. Cardano was priced at $0.23 after a 16.5% monthly increase, but it remains 92.5% below its September 2021 high.

On the same day, the wider market dipped as Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) briefly fell below $80,000, forcing the closure of nearly $1 billion in leveraged positions—trades made with borrowed money that liquidate once losses reach a set limit. Bitcoin later recovered to $82,306.

According to ChatGPT, Sui has the best chance to double first, with a target price of $2.07 expected around May 2027. It assigns Sui a 55% probability of achieving this milestone before December 31, 2027. These estimates are based on prices from the evening of October 15.

Sui is a layer-1 blockchain, which means it serves as a foundational network for processing transactions and hosting applications. Currently, about 4.12 billion of its 10 billion tokens are in circulation. If Sui reaches $2.07, its market cap would be approximately $8.52 billion. This market cap can increase as locked tokens are released, meaning a consistent price would require more buying power over time.

Chainlink comes in second, with a target price of $25 anticipated around August 2027, and a 45% probability of doubling. ChatGPT believes Chainlink’s significance stems from its role as an oracle network, providing external data, such as asset prices, to blockchains for smart contracts to use. At $25, Chainlink’s market cap would be about $19.25 billion based on current supply.

Ethereum ranks third, with an anticipated doubling target around November 2027 at $4,899—just below its peak of $4,946. This suggests Ethereum would need to fully recover to reach its target. Cardano is projected to double last, around February 2028, with a 30% probability, given its slower momentum over the past month.

Coin Most Likely Price on Dec. 31, 2026 Price Range Gain from October 15 Price
Sui $1.35 $0.65 to $1.90 About 30%
Cardano $0.28 $0.17 to $0.36 About 21%
Chainlink $14.50 $8.50 to $18 About 16%
Ethereum $2,700 $1,900 to $3,400 About 10%

While Sui’s momentum may propel it ahead of the others, it tends to experience more dramatic price swings than the broader market. Cardano’s prospects are closely tied to a broader recovery in altcoins, while Chainlink’s infrastructure role offers some stability. However, overall market weakness could still drag its price down.

Ethereum is projected to see the smallest price increase because demand is diminishing. U.S. spot Ether ETFs, which hold ETH for stock-market investors, recorded outflows in every trading session from October 1 to October 12 and an additional $129.5 million outflow on October 14. Nonetheless, total net inflows since these ETFs launched still hovered around $13.07 billion on October 14, according to SoSoValue.

Corporate purchases may also slow. BitMine, a company that invests in ETH as a treasury asset, is about 77,000 ETH (around $189 million) short of its 5% ownership ceiling. Conversely, Interactive Brokers (NASDAQ:IBKR | IBKR Price Prediction) introduced a new demand source by allowing ETH staking starting October 13. Staking involves locking ETH to help maintain the blockchain in exchange for rewards.

Sui Carries the Most Downside Risk, While Ethereum Receives the Largest Investment Share

ChatGPT also identifies Sui as having the greatest downside risk among the four, with a potential price drop of about 40% to around $0.62. This risk stems from potential profit-taking after a strong month. However, Ethereum’s demand issues—highlighted by ETF outflows and BitMine nearing its ceiling—are a more immediate concern.

If Bitcoin falls below $75,000, ChatGPT’s stress scenario estimates that Sui could drop 25% to 35%, bringing its price down to between $0.67 and $0.78. Cardano could fall 20% to 30%, reaching $0.16 to $0.18. Chainlink might decline 18% to 28%, falling to between $9 and $10. Ethereum could lose 15% to 25%, falling from $ 2,082 to $ 1,837.

ChatGPT’s model portfolio proposes a $4,000 investment split across different cryptocurrencies. The suggested allocation includes $1,400 for Ethereum (35%), $1,200 for Chainlink (30%), $1,000 for Sui (25%), and $400 for Cardano (10%).

In summary, Sui appears best positioned to double first, but market conditions and individual token performance will ultimately determine the outcome.

So Which Crypto Could Double First?

In ChatGPT’s analysis, Sui has the best chance of doubling first, with Chainlink close behind. Based on ChatGPT’s probabilities for doubling by December 31, 2027, Sui comes in at 55%, Chainlink at 45%, Ethereum at 40%, and Cardano at 30%. This gives Sui a unique position as the only cryptocurrency projected to have over a 50% chance.

However, we believe Sui’s promising ranking depends on certain conditions. First, Bitcoin needs to stay above $75,000. If that happens, Sui must reach $1.35 by year-end, then surpass $1.90 before it can aim for $2.07. If Bitcoin dipped below $75,000, Sui could slide to around $0.67, pushing its likely doubling date well into 2028.
