AI Price Prediction: Bitcoin Is 35% Below ATH. ChatGPT AI Says When It Could Get Back to $126,000
Bitcoin sits more than a third below its record high, and ChatGPT has a surprisingly specific month when it could get back there, along with the exact conditions that could push that date forward or delay it further.

According to ChatGPT AI, October 2027 is the month most likely to see Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) close above its record high of $126,080, set on October 6, 2025. Bitcoin is currently trading at $80,626, about 36.1% below that peak, and it has fallen 7.9% in 2026. Over the past month, its price has fluctuated between roughly $80,000 and $86,500.
Although reaching the previous high may seem feasible, Bitcoin would need to gain 56.4% to climb back to its former record. Starting from $81,400, ChatGPT predicts a 54.8% gain over several quarters. But how likely is it that Bitcoin can return to that peak in two years?
Bitcoin Needs a $2.53 Trillion Market Cap to Return to $126,000

To return to its record high, Bitcoin needs a market cap of about $2.53 trillion, calculated by multiplying the price by the circulating supply of around 20.1 million BTC. Bitcoin’s market cap is currently about $1.62 trillion. For reference, the entire crypto market is worth around $2.73 trillion.
As more Bitcoin is mined toward the hard cap of 21 million coins, the market cap required to match the old price would need to be higher than it was at the October 2025 peak.
The last bull run appeared weaker than previous cycles. On The Pomp Podcast in August 2026, crypto investor Arthur Hayes remarked that the record near $125,000 was barely double the previous peak, a lukewarm performance compared to earlier surges. Bitcoin hit a one-year low of $58,566 on June 30, 2026, but has surged 28.4% over the past 90 days.
ChatGPT provides a measured outlook, giving Bitcoin an 8% chance of hitting a new record by December 31, 2026, and a 60% probability by the end of 2027.
Spot Bitcoin ETF Flows Turned Volatile in October

Spot Bitcoin ETFs invest directly in Bitcoin, and their daily flows can indicate how much new capital is entering the market.
U.S. Bitcoin ETFs have seen cumulative net inflows of about $57.6 billion and currently hold around $105 billion in assets. However, according to Glassnode, a notable net outflow of $292 million was reported in the 30 days leading up to October 26, marking the first 30-day net outflow since July.
Flow patterns have improved since then. The ETFs saw inflows on October 26, 27, and 28, including a substantial $137 million influx on October 28 after an outflow of approximately $635 million on October 22. If this inflow trend continues, ChatGPT suggests the timeline to reach the record could shift up by four months, potentially to June 2027. However, one positive session doesn’t confirm a new trend.
Mixed signals are coming from companies within the sector. For instance, Strategy Inc. (NASDAQ: MSTR | MSTR Price Prediction) has paused its Bitcoin purchases and has opted to buy back $205 million of preferred stock. Meanwhile, Strive (NASDAQ:ASST) added 6,182 BTC, about $498 million at $80,626, while Franklin Templeton (NYSE: BEN) launched new funds, though ChatGPT notes their 5% Bitcoin weight limit may restrict their price impact.
Two Fed Officials Voted for a Rate Hike on October 28

On October 28, Federal Reserve policymakers decided to keep the benchmark interest rate between 3.75% and 4%. However, two officials voted to raise rates. Higher interest rates can attract investment toward cash and bonds, potentially drawing money away from non-interest-paying assets like Bitcoin.
The long-term interest rates have eased slightly, with the 10-year Treasury yield falling to 4.99% on October 27 from 5.31% on October 5. Nonetheless, ChatGPT’s year-end target for Bitcoin is $88,000, about 8.1% higher than its starting price, assuming no aggressive rally while the Fed stays hawkish and leans toward raising rates to fight inflation.
The April 2028 Halving Cuts New Supply but Cannot Create Buyers

The April 2028 halving event is expected to reduce rewards for Bitcoin miners, which could tighten supply. However, ChatGPT emphasizes that while the 2028 halving may improve supply dynamics, it does not guarantee increased demand or buyers for Bitcoin.
Probabilities for reaching a new record indicate a slight upward trend—from 60% at the end of 2027 to 72% by the April 2028 halving—suggesting that while halvings help, they are not decisive turning points.
Can Bitcoin Reach Its Record High by October 2027?
We see a reasonable chance of Bitcoin closing above $126,000 by the end of 2027, in line with ChatGPT’s 60% probability projection. The likelihood of this occurring before December 31, 2026, appears low. Recent ETF flows signal that buyers remain active, though their participation is sporadic.
A return to October 2027 will mean a longer wait for those who bought at the October 2025 peak.
Bitcoin must first break above its 20-day and 50-day averages of $81,854 and $81,896, which are just over 1.5% above its current price. A close above the 90-day high of about $86,597 from September 21—a 7.4% jump—backed by consistent ETF inflows could bring ChatGPT’s June 2027 target into play. Conversely, a drop below the 200-day average of around $73,071, approximately 9.4% below its current level, could signal trouble.
