Is XRP a Good Investment Right Now at $1.18?
XRP has bled harder than Bitcoin and Ethereum over the past year, yet many holders still dream of $2 and a record high. The math on market caps, moving averages, and ETF flows shows what stands in the way.

XRP (CRYPTO:XRP) trades at $1.18 currently. This marks a 5.1% decrease in just 24 hours and a 4.6% decline over the past week. Currently, XRP is trading 67.5% below its all-time high of $3.65, reached on July 17, 2025.
XRP holders have faced greater losses than many other cryptocurrencies over the past year. XRP has fallen 45.1%, while Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) has lost 25% and Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH) has dropped 32.4%. Over this time, XRP’s closing prices varied significantly, from $2.53 on November 10, 2025, to a low of $0.99 on August 16, 2026.
Many holders are optimistic about a return to the $2 mark and the previous all-time high of $3.65. So, is XRP a wise investment right now, and what would it take for its price to rise again?
What XRP Would Be Worth at $2, $3.65 and $5

XRP’s market cap is its price multiplied by its circulating supply. That comes to $75.29 billion across 63,516,606,953 circulating coins, making XRP the fifth-largest cryptocurrency. The table below breaks down the gain required to reach key price points.
| Price Level | Percentage Gain Needed | Market Cap at Current Supply |
|---|---|---|
| $2 | +69.5% | $127.03 billion |
| $3.65 (all-time high) | +209.3% | $231.84 billion |
| $5 | +323.7% | $317.58 billion |
At its current price, 1,000 XRP is worth $1,180. A related look at what 1,000 XRP could be worth by 2030 runs the numbers further out.
If XRP reaches $2, it would surpass BNB (CRYPTO:BNB), currently valued at $91.46 billion. A jump to $3.65 would place it above Tether (CRYPTO:USDT) at $177.58 billion, while hitting $5 would push XRP’s market cap beyond Ethereum’s $272.25 billion.
However, supply growth makes these price levels harder to reach. XRP’s maximum supply is 100,000,000,000 coins, and total supply already stands at 99,985,583,260, so there’s almost no room left for new coins to dilute the price further.
The fully diluted valuation, meaning its value if every coin were in circulation, currently stands at $118.53 billion. If all coins were circulating, achieving $2 would mean a market cap of $200 billion, and $3.65 would require $365 billion.
Factors That Could Help XRP Reach $2 Again

Bitcoin’s Recovery
Bitcoin is currently trading at $75,714, down 40% from its all-time high. It represents 59.1% of the total crypto market value. On November 5, 2026, Bitcoin ETFs saw a net outflow of $430.2 million, after a $74.6 million inflow just a day before, signaling unstable demand.
XRP has closely followed Bitcoin’s price movements, gaining 16.9% over 90 days, close to Bitcoin’s 17.1% increase. Still, XRP has declined more drastically than Bitcoin throughout 2026. Thus, a Bitcoin rebound could lift XRP, though XRP has tended to fall harder during sell-offs.
XRP Reclaiming Its Moving Averages
Moving averages are essential tools for traders to evaluate trends based on average closing prices over specific periods. XRP is below its 200-day average of $1.27, the 20-day average of $1.29, and the 50-day average of $1.38. The highest closing price in the past 90 days was $1.57 on September 22, 2026, a resistance point buyers will need to overcome.
Increased Retail Interest
The XRP Ledger page on Wikipedia drew 1,528 views from October 30 to November 5, 2026, up 75.2% from the previous week, signaling renewed interest among retail investors. However, engagement on platforms like Reddit remains low, with only three qualified mentions in the past week.
According to the Crypto Fear and Greed Index, which gauges trader sentiment, the current score is 41, placing it firmly in the “fear” category.
Will XRP Reach $2 Before 2027?
XRP is unlikely to hit $2 before the end of 2026, and returning to its $3.65 all-time high looks even less realistic in that window. Reaching $2 would require a 69.5% gain in about eight weeks.
For a comeback, Bitcoin ETF flows would need to stabilize with consistent net inflows. Then, XRP would need to first climb above its 200-day average of $1.27, then the 50-day average of $1.38, and finally break past the $1.57 closing price from September 22, 2026.
At $1.18, XRP carries significant risk and a long path to recovery, not an attractive purchase right now. Continued Bitcoin outflows could limit XRP’s ability to rise above $1.27. If that happens, the next crucial level to watch will be the $0.99 closing price from August 16, 2026, which marks XRP’s lowest point in the past year.
