Litecoin (CRYPTO: LTC) is trading at $53.23, up 2.97% in the past 24 hours but down 4.83% over the past week. The price has dropped from $66.06 on October 7 to close at $51.59 on November 5, representing a decline of 30.59% in 2026 and leaving it 87.03% below its all-time high of $410.26, reached in May 2021.

According to Litecoin’s official website, it serves as digital money meant for payments. A recent snapshot from CoinGecko shows that a $1,000 investment buys you 18.79346 LTC. Most discussions about Litecoin’s price prediction for 2028 focus on a $100 target, especially since it last closed above that mark in September 2025.

So what does a $1,000 Litecoin price prediction for 2028 look like, and how far away is $100?

The following table illustrates what your 18.79346 LTC could be worth by the end of 2028, depending on various price scenarios. These figures are based on gross market prices only and do not account for fees, taxes, or potential gains from holding.

Assumed End-of-2028 Price Bag Value Dollar Change Return
$25 $469.84 -$530.16 -53.02%
Unchanged from purchase $1,000 $0 0%
$75 $1,409.51 +$409.51 +40.95%
$100 $1,879.35 +$879.35 +87.93%
$150 $2,819.02 +$1,819.02 +181.9%

The $25 scenario represents a situation where Litecoin drops below its 2021 monthly lows. Its lowest close in the past year was $40.87 on June 25, 2026, meaning this low would require a significant decline.

Currently, Litecoin’s market cap is approximately $4.14 billion, ranking it 26th among cryptocurrencies. If Litecoin reaches $100, the 77,798,011 LTC in circulation would have a market cap of around $7.78 billion, nearly double its current size.

Why Litecoin’s Hard Cap Raises the Bar

As more Litecoin is mined, reaching the hard cap of 84 million coins will influence market value. At $100 per coin, the total market cap would be about $8.4 billion. Thus, the same price point would necessitate a greater market valuation as the number of coins increases. Market value is just the last trading price applied to all coins, not new money being invested.

Litecoin’s 2024 Rally Already Showed the Upside

Recent history offers a glimpse into potential recovery. In November 2024, Litecoin began the month at $68.85 and closed it at $102.67, eventually peaking at $146.23 in December 2024.

However, this rally was short-lived; by November 9, 2025, LTC had reached a one-year high of $110.18 before falling 38.79% over the following year.

Moving Averages and Retail Interest Point to a Base

Moving averages reflect the average closing price over a certain period and help traders understand trends. Currently, LTC is trading just above its 200-day moving average of $52.13, while falling below the 20-day average of $57.05 and the 50-day average of $61.79. The previous uptick began from $45.98 on August 8, 2026, peaking at $72.55 on September 26, indicating that sellers have previously held prices in the low $70s.

Retail interest is also rising, with page views on Litecoin’s Wikipedia page increasing from 928 to 1,735 in just one week, an 87.0% jump. While more people reading about the coin is a positive sign, sustained interest alongside higher prices will be crucial for future growth.

Can Litecoin Reach $100 by the End of 2028?

Litecoin has a reasonable chance of reaching $100 by the end of 2028, but several factors must align first. LTC needs to stay above its 200-day average of $52.13 and recover past the 50-day average of $61.79. After that, it needs to overcome the September 2026 high of $72.55 and break through the $75 barrier. Until LTC can close above $72.55 on a monthly basis, the $100 target seems out of reach.

If the recovery falters and LTC drops below $52.13 and the June 2026 low of $40.87, the $25 scenario could become a distinct possibility, leaving your investment value at just $469.84, and anyone who bought in late 2025 faces a steeper climb. While payment usage may have limited impact on price, a monthly close above the low $70s through 2027 would make a $1,879.35 value more attainable.
