Wal-Mart Rolls Back Pricing on Selected Video Games

Given the speed and ease with which it’s possible to change prices online, it’s also hard to figure out whether or not a low-price offer on an item is new or just reposted. In the end, it probably doesn’t matter to consumers who believe they’re getting a good deal on an item, nor does it matter to the retailer: a sale is a sale.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE: WMT) has advertised prices for Green Monday promotions that are set to begin Monday, December 14, but the advertised prices are also available Sunday, at least for some items.

Hot new video game Star Wars Battlefront is advertised online for $39.96 for either an Xbox One version or a PlayStation 4 version, a savings of $20 on either version. A somewhat less enticing deal is a savings of $0.11 on the Deluxe edition of the game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III has also seen a price rollback of about $10 to $49.88 for either an Xbox One or PS4 version of the game.

Halo 5: Guardians is selling for $49.88, a savings of $10 from the regular price for the Xbox One version and a savings of nearly $21 off the $100 list price of the Limited Edition of the game for Xbox One.
