With so many brick-and-mortar retailers kicking off their Black Friday deals early, Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) won’t be left behind. The online retailer has launched its own early bird deals on a wide variety of items — 8,788 items to be exact.

Amazon’s major competitor for online sales is, perhaps surprisingly to some, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE: WMT). Including products carried by its marketplace sellers, Amazon offers more than 350 million products to its customers. Of that total, some 12.23 million are sold directly by Amazon.

Wal-Mart claims it will have more than 20 million items for sale this year, with many millions more to come in the coming months. The company did not say if it is selling all those items directly or if some are sold by affiliate merchants. In any event, that’s still a lot of stuff.

Among Amazon’s deals of the day for Friday is an assortment of athletic gear from Adidas. The company’s men’s Superstar RT Fashion Sneakers (ASIN: B01MXBT1OQ) in white or Night Indigo are on sale Friday for $45, a savings of 50% from the regular price of $90.

An Adidas men’s Sport Luxe Bomber Jacket (model #F1625PM801) is on sale for $59.99, a 40% savings from the regular price of $100.00. This price is only good for Friday.

ATGOIN Bluetooth wireless headphones (ASIN #B01E349FPY) are a daily deal for Friday at $26.99, a savings of 60% from the regular price of $66.99. Run your total bill to more than $49 and get free shipping too.

Finally, a Hoover carpet cleaner (model #FH50150) is selling Friday for $95.79, a savings of 56% from the regular price of $219.99. Shipping is free.
