Retailers That Are Opening Up Early on Thanksgiving and Black Friday

Black Friday is known as the busiest shopping day of the year, but some retailers are starting early again this year and opening their doors on Thanksgiving, adding to the madness. If consumers are planning on going shopping during this time, they should have a plan to deal with the hordes of shoppers and a schedule of what stores are open.
Roughly 164 million people are planning on shopping this weekend according to the National Retail Federation. For some perspective that’s nearly 70% of the population of the country.
Out of this group 32 million are planning on getting a leg up on everyone else, and starting their shopping on Thanksgiving. More and more retailers have been moving towards this idea of opening up early on Turkey Day, and cashing in on the frenzy.
While some stores have specific hours for Thanksgiving and Black Friday, Walmart is the only major retailer out of this selection that will be open the entire time, although Black Friday discounts don’t begin until 6 p.m. local time.
