10. Atlanta, GA
> Number of fashion stores: 511
> Luxury fashion stores: 16
> Median household income: $83,703
Atlanta, Georgia, is the 10th most fashionable city in the nation. Atlanta has over 500 clothing stores — about 112 stores for every 100,000 people in the city. Sixteen of these retailers are high-end brand stores, the 10th most of any city in the nation.
High-fashion brand stores in Atlanta include Fendi, Prada, and Chanel. The city is also home to two locations of each Louis Vuitton, Valentino, and Armani. The headquarters of children’s apparel chain-store, Carter’s, is also located in Atlanta. For the last 10 years, the city has hosted Atlanta International Fashion Week.
9. San Francisco, CA
> Number of fashion stores: 680
> Luxury fashion stores: 1
> Median household income: $106,898
San Francisco is one of the top 10 most fashionable cities in the nation — despite having just one luxury brand store (Coach). While the city lacks in high-end brand stores, it ranks high in several other fashion aspects. For example, San Francisco is home to a whopping 680 fashion-related stores, 560 fashion designers, and the headquarters of five big-name brands: Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic, Gymboree, and Charlotte Russe.
8. Dallas, TX
> Number of fashion stores: 703
> Luxury fashion stores: 18
> Median household income: $54,283
Residents of Dallas, Texas, live in one of the most fashionable cities in the nation. Dallas is home to 100 fashion designers, 18 luxury brand stores, and it hosts one fashion show. Of the 18 luxury brand stores in Dallas, there are three Louis Vuitton stores; two Armani, Gucci, and Coach locations; and one of each Hermès, Cartier, Ralph Lauren, Chanel, Dior, Fendi, Burberry, Versace, and Valentino. Dallas is also one of the cities that hosts the annual DG Expo fashion trade show, a two-day fabric and trim event for designers and manufacturers.
7. Las Vegas, NV
> Number of fashion stores: 369
> Luxury fashion stores: 4
> Median household income: $55,424
While Las Vegas is chiefly known for its gambling and gaming opportunities — as well as its numerous wedding chapels — it also happens to be one of the most fashionable cities in the nation. There are four luxury brands within city limits: Coach, Burberry, Armani, and Ralph Lauren. Las Vegas proper does not contain the Las Vegas Strip, which houses many more luxury outlets and other tourist attractions.
Five trade shows — POOL, Sourcing at Magic, COEUR, Agenda, and Capsule — are all held in Las Vegas at various points throughout the year.
6. Urban Honolulu, HI
> Number of fashion stores: 657
> Luxury fashion stores: 28
> Median household income: $66,148
If you think people in Urban Honolulu are mostly clothed in cargo shorts and floral shirts, guess again. Local residents but primarily tourists who visit this tropical city are spoiled with 28 luxury brand stores, the fourth most in the nation.
