AI infrastructure spending keeps accelerating. Hyperscaler capex commitments keep expanding, custom silicon programs are ramping into volume production, and the power and thermal build-out behind every gigawatt of compute is only just entering its heaviest deployment phase. Q2 earnings across the stack confirmed the same message: demand still outstrips supply. For August, three names sit at the center of that trade, spanning GPUs, custom accelerators, and the physical guts of the data center.
Here are three AI infrastructure stocks worth close attention this month, each backed by a fresh earnings beat and raised expectations heading into the second half.
NVIDIA (NVDA)
NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA | NVDA Price Prediction) is the anchor position in any AI infrastructure basket, and the numbers keep validating the setup. Shares closed at $219.22 on August 5, 2026, up 17.68% year to date and 15.37% in just the past week, as capital rotates back into the megacap AI leaders.
The Q1 FY27 report filed May 20, 2026 gave the bulls plenty to work with. Revenue landed at $81.6 billion, up 85.2% year over year, with non-GAAP EPS of $1.87 topping the $1.77 consensus. Data Center revenue hit $75.2 billion, and networking inside that segment surged 199% year over year to $14.8 billion as NVLink and InfiniBand demand tripled. Q2 guidance calls for roughly $91.0 billion in revenue at a 75.0% gross margin, and that excludes any China Data Center compute.
CEO Jensen Huang framed the moment plainly: "The buildout of AI factories, the largest infrastructure expansion in human history, is accelerating at extraordinary speed." Analyst positioning matches the tone: 95% bullish, with a $302.83 consensus target. Trailing P/E sits at 38x on forward EPS of $8.26.
Risk: Guidance assumes zero China H20 revenue, and $119.0 billion in total supply commitments create real execution risk if hyperscaler orders soften even modestly.
Broadcom (AVGO)
Broadcom (NASDAQ:AVGO) has become the second pillar of the AI infrastructure trade thanks to its custom ASIC franchise, and management is now targeting a step change in scale. Shares last traded at $418.28, up 21.30% year to date and 43.84% over the past year.
Q2 FY26 was the eighth consecutive EPS beat: revenue of $22.19 billion rose 47.9% year over year, non-GAAP EPS came in at $2.44, and free cash flow hit $10.26 billion at a 69% adjusted EBITDA margin. The real headline is the AI trajectory. CEO Hock Tan said "Q2 semiconductor revenue from AI of $10.8 billion grew 143% year-over-year, above our forecast" and guided "in Q3 we expect semiconductor revenue from AI to grow over 200 percent year-over-year to $16.0 billion."
Total Q3 revenue is guided to roughly $29.4 billion, or 84% growth. Custom accelerators for the largest hyperscalers plus AI networking put Broadcom on a credible path toward the $100 billion AI sales target by 2027. Analyst consensus is 92% bullish with a $527.88 target and a forward P/E of 21x.
Risk: Customer concentration is real. A handful of hyperscalers drive the AI revenue line, and significant indebtedness means any pause in custom silicon orders would hit both cash flow flexibility and the multiple.
Vertiv Holdings (VRT)
Vertiv Holdings (NYSE:VRT) is the pure-play pick. Every GPU and custom ASIC needs power delivery and thermal management at scale, and Vertiv sells exactly that. Shares changed hands at $277.94, up an eye-catching 71.63% year to date and 100.52% over the past year, with a 24.61% pop in just the past week following the Q2 report.
Q2 2026, filed July 29, 2026, delivered EPS of $1.52 on revenue of $3.27 billion, up 24.1% year over year with 18% organic sales growth. Adjusted operating margin expanded 410 basis points to 22.6%, and free cash flow of $925.3 million grew 234%. Management raised FY26 guidance for the second time this year, now calling for $13.80 billion to $14.20 billion in sales at 30-32% organic growth and adjusted EPS of $6.65 to $6.75, or 58-61% growth.
CEO Giordano Albertazzi captured the setup: "Demand for AI and general compute continues to intensify and with each technology advancement, deployments grow more complex and more infrastructure-intensive." Analyst consensus sits at 86% bullish with a $337.50 target and a forward P/E of 38x. Vertiv was also added to the S&P 500 in March 2026, broadening its institutional ownership base.
Risk: EMEA organic sales fell 2.4% in Q2, and multi-phased hyperscale projects introduce timing risk. A high beta of 2.08 means investors should expect sharp two-way moves around each quarterly update.
The through-line for August is straightforward: AI capex is broadening across compute, custom silicon, and the physical infrastructure that keeps those chips online. Investors watching the setup should keep an eye on each stock into the next round of guidance.
