Vertiv closed up 16.86% at $243.72, the widest single-name gain across our 382-stock priority list today.
Latest Activity
Vertiv's 11.5% jump tops the open, and the spread to Boston Scientific at the bottom runs better than 21 points. Hardware names fill both lists, so owning the sector is no guarantee of being on the right side today.
Organic orders more than doubled year over year, the clearest sign yet that the AI data center buildout is still accelerating. Management raised full-year revenue guidance to $14.45 billion to $14.85 billion, with the quarter beating EPS and revenue expectations.
Two years in Eric Bleeker's AI Portfolio, and Vertiv still holds a 75.8% gain even after giving back most of a run that peaked above 200%. The data center cooling trade has gotten violent in both directions, so position sizing matters more than the headline return here.
Super Micro Computer opened up 13.4%, the biggest move across a 387-name priority list, with Dell, Vertiv and Bloom Energy also clearing 5%. Netflix and AT&T anchor the other end, each off roughly 4.8%.
Vertiv Targets Up to 30% More Cumulative AI Token Output in First 12 Months Using NVIDIA DSX, Polar Deploys Approach at Norway Site
The Vera Rubin DSX reference design and Omniverse blueprint are becoming the template others build power and cooling around, pulling NVIDIA's footprint upstream into data center design itself. Polar's 41 MW first phase at Herøya, Norway, scalable to 100 MW, is the live proof point, with deployment modeled to shrink from roughly 120 days to 48. Faster buildouts mean chips start earning sooner.
Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer 10/7/26
- Cramer splits the market in two: credit-dependent names like Caterpillar, Ford and IBM versus AI borrowers that price near Treasuries
- SpaceX seeking $40 billion to buy Nvidia chips at triple-B rating, while Paramount Skydance bondholders got hit at 8%
- Oracle flagged as the one data-center name still exposed to credit market scrutiny
- Caller advice: swap Western Digital into cheaper Micron; Vertiv the pick after GE Vernova on data center infrastructure
AI and data-center names no longer trade off Treasury auctions, so a weak auction hits the industrial and consumer side of your book while chip and power names sail through, with Oracle the named exception. On the calls, he pushed Micron over Western Digital and ranked Vertiv right behind GE Vernova on infrastructure.
Vertiv just put a dedicated executive over global manufacturing, logistics and operational excellence, the exact bottleneck for a $97.7 billion data center supplier trying to keep pace with AI cooling and power orders. Execution is the thing that can break this story, and the company is now staffing for it.
Bloom Energy opened 7.79% higher, the widest move in a 383-stock board where nothing else on either side cleared 6%. Energy names sit on the losing end, with iQIYI the weakest at -4.81% and still under a dollar.
Eric Bleeker's AI Portfolio pick has nearly doubled the 25% milestone bar in 318 days. Vertiv's data center cooling business is still the cleanest hardware proxy for hyperscaler buildouts.
