Systemwide same-shop customer visits rose just 0.4%, down from 4.7% a year ago, so growth is leaning on ticket and new units. Revenue still grew nearly 30% year over year, and management raised the full-year outlook to at least $2.1 billion while targeting roughly 250 new shops in 2027.

Dutch Bros posted adjusted earnings per share of $0.25 for the third quarter of 2026, beating expectations and extending the company's streak of EPS beats to six consecutive quarters. Revenue came in at $549.84 million, a 30% jump year over year that also came in above estimates.

Company-operated shop contribution margin widened to 28.1% from 27.8% a year earlier, helped by labor costs falling to 26.7% of shop revenue from 27.5%. That operational tightening matters because it shows the unit economics improving even as the company absorbs new locations, including the 32 reacquired Phoenix East Valley franchise shops it brought back in-house in late July.

Systemwide same-shop customer visits rose just 0.4% in the quarter, a sharp deceleration from the 4.7% growth recorded a year ago. Dutch Rewards loyalty visits made up 74% of total customer visits, up from 72%, which signals that the most engaged customers are still showing up, but converting new and lapsed guests is a clear challenge management will need to address.

Management responded to the traffic softness by leaning into what is working: ticket growth, new units, and a thicker innovation pipeline. The full-year 2026 revenue outlook was lifted to at least $2.1 billion, with same-shop sales growth guided to at least 5% and Adjusted EBITDA expected at approximately $380 million. The company also introduced a 2027 target of roughly 250 new system shop openings, up from the at-least-185 pace targeted for 2026.

On the innovation front, CEO Christine Barone pointed to accelerating beverage development, tests of new hot food platforms, enhanced digital tools, and a delivery pilot as the levers the company is pulling to create more reasons for customers to visit. Those initiatives are early-stage, but they represent the clearest articulation yet of how Dutch Bros plans to reignite visit frequency beyond simply adding more locations.
