Shares of Hims & Hers opened the session at $33.47 and slid steadily through regular trading hours, hitting $29.18 — a loss of nearly 12.8% in a single day. The selling was not concentrated in one moment but rather a prolonged, step-by-step decline that reflects genuine concern about the company's near-term growth story rather than a knee-jerk reaction to a single headline.
Two forces are hitting the telehealth platform at once. The FDA has moved to restrict compounded versions of GLP-1 weight-loss drugs, which had been a meaningful part of Hims & Hers' offering to customers who could not access or afford brand-name options. At the same time, Amazon has launched its own GLP-1 program, introducing a well-capitalized competitor with enormous logistics reach directly into the space where Hims & Hers had been building momentum.

Together, the regulatory tightening and the new competitive threat strike at what investors had treated as the company's most promising growth engine. With access to compounded drugs narrowing and a formidable new rival now in the market, the path to recapturing that momentum is considerably less clear than it appeared just weeks ago.
