Hims & Hers (HIMS) Q2 2026: Revenue Beats but Margins Tell a Darker Story
As seen on the 24/7 Wall St. homepage on August 10, 2026.
The pivot from compounded to branded GLP-1s pulled gross margin to 64% from 76% a year ago, which is how 38% revenue growth still ends in a loss that badly missed expectations. Management raised full-year revenue guidance to $3.1 billion to $3.3 billion anyway, so the question is whether margins stabilize from here. The 5:00 PM ET call should answer that.

Hims & Hers posted Q2 2026 revenue of $753.2 million, a 38% year-over-year gain that cleared the $730.1 million consensus by about 3%. But the bottom line told a very different story: a GAAP loss of $0.37 per share against an expected loss of just $0.05, a miss of 640%. The shortfall was driven by $47.5 million in legal contingencies, $28.8 million in acquisition and transaction-related costs, and $4.6 million in restructuring charges, on top of structural margin pressure from the company's strategic shift away from compounded GLP-1 medications toward branded weight-loss drugs.
That pivot is the central tension investors are watching. Gross margin fell to 64% from 76% a year ago, flipping a $42.5 million GAAP net profit into an $86.3 million net loss in a single year. Subscribers grew 19% year-over-year to nearly 2.9 million, and monthly revenue per average subscriber rose 21% to $92, so demand is clearly there. The question is how long it takes for the branded GLP-1 cost structure to normalize and whether the Eucalyptus acquisition — which closed in June and drove international revenue up more than 17-fold — adds to or offsets that pressure in coming quarters.

Management's response to the margin squeeze was to raise the bar on the top line anyway, lifting full-year 2026 revenue guidance to $3.1 billion to $3.3 billion and guiding Q3 revenue to $880 million to $900 million. The company also reiterated 2030 long-term targets of at least $6.5 billion in revenue and $1.3 billion in Adjusted EBITDA. How management addresses the path to margin recovery will be the key focus of the 5:00 PM ET earnings call.
