Investors are only learning now, 521 days late, that a Ways and Means Republican's household cleared out four positions on the same March 2025 day, including two healthcare names her committee legislates on. The filing lag is the story: disclosure rules give 45 days, and this one took more than a year past that.

On March 10, 2025, the household of Rep. Carol Miller, a Republican member of the House Ways and Means Committee, sold positions in Pfizer, Quest Diagnostics, Target, and U.S. Bancorp on the same day. The public is only finding out now, through a filing dated August 13, 2026.

The disclosure lag is 521 days, far beyond the 45-day reporting window House rules require. That gap is the issue, independent of what the trades themselves show.

Two of the four names sold that day, Pfizer and Quest Diagnostics, sit squarely in healthcare. Ways and Means has broad jurisdiction over Medicare, Medicaid, and health policy financing, which puts those exits under a brighter spotlight than a comparable sale by a member without that committee assignment.

The other two positions, Target and U.S. Bancorp, span retail and regional banking. All four sales occurred on the same calendar day, a single-day sweep that draws more attention than trades spread across weeks.
