Marvell's position in Eric Bleeker's AI Portfolio crossed the 200% return threshold, turning a $1,000 stake from the November 2024 recommendation into roughly $3,060. The position spent nearly its entire first five months in negative territory.

The position was underwater from the start, at one point sitting more than 32% below the entry price before the AI infrastructure trade found its footing. The bulk of the gain compressed into a matter of weeks.

AI infrastructure plays behave differently from the software names that dominate most AI conversations. Marvell sits in the data center networking and custom silicon layer, a segment whose fundamentals re-rated sharply once hyperscaler spending on AI accelerator infrastructure became undeniable.

The 697 days since the recommendation is a useful benchmark for how long conviction was required. The position demanded patience through a prolonged drawdown before delivering more than twice the original capital invested.
