Accenture closed at $211.97 on October 1, a gain of 15.6% in a single session. That kind of one-day move is unusual for a company of Accenture's scale, where daily swings of even a few percent draw attention. Investors who sat out the session had little warning it was coming.

Synopsys and Coherent joined Accenture in double-digit territory, with Applied Optoelectronics and Lumentum rounding out a top five tilted toward technology and optical networking names.

The selling pressure was mild by comparison, with AMC Entertainment leading the decliners on an 8.24% drop and Tempus AI, Bruker, Danaher, and NatWest Group posting losses that looked modest against the gains elsewhere.

Across the full 383-stock board, the biggest winner outpaced the biggest loser by nearly two to one on a percentage basis, and moves that concentrated tend to reset expectations for nearby stocks, making the next session worth watching for follow-through or reversal.
