EOG locks over 1 Bcf/d into JKM-linked LNG deals by 2030

As seen on the 24/7 Wall St. homepage on November 5, 2026.

First, we signed a new long-term gas sales agreement expanding our access to premium markets. Linked to JKM pricing, this agreement lifts our premium-priced exposure across LNG feedgas contracts to more than 1 billion cubic feet per day by 2030. Second, we approved the expansion of our Janus gas processing plant in the Delaware Basin.

Tying more than a billion cubic feet a day of gas to Asian JKM pricing by 2030 pulls EOG away from the Waha and Henry Hub discounts that have punished Permian gas producers. The Janus processing expansion in the Delaware Basin is the plumbing that makes those volumes deliverable.

EOG Resources Chairman and CEO Ezra Y. Yacob disclosed two moves during the company's Q3 2026 earnings call that together signal a deliberate push away from domestic gas pricing. The first is a new long-term gas sales agreement tied to JKM, the benchmark for liquefied natural gas delivered into Asian markets, which is typically priced at a substantial premium to both Henry Hub and the Waha hub that serves Permian Basin producers.

The new contract pushes EOG's total premium-priced exposure across its LNG feedgas agreements past 1 billion cubic feet per day by 2030. That threshold matters because it represents a large, durable slice of production insulated from the localized Waha discounts that have at times turned deeply negative for Permian gas sellers who lack alternative outlets.

The second announcement is the approved expansion of the Janus gas processing plant in the Delaware Basin. Processing capacity is the operational prerequisite for moving raw gas off the wellhead and into pipeline-quality volumes that can flow toward LNG export facilities, so the Janus expansion is directly connected to EOG's ability to honor and grow its premium-linked commitments.

Together, the two moves form a linked strategy: secure the pricing exposure first, then confirm the infrastructure needed to deliver the volumes. Investors watching EOG will want to track how quickly the Janus expansion comes online and whether additional JKM-linked agreements follow ahead of the 2030 target.
