Invesco Mortgage Capital Inc. is a real estate investment trust (REIT) that invests in, finances and manages mortgage-backed securities and other mortgage-related assets.
The company funds these assets largely through short-term repurchase agreements. It hedges interest rate risk with pay-fixed interest rate swaps and short U.S. Treasury futures positions.
It seeks to deliver risk-adjusted returns primarily through dividends, which it currently pays monthly on its common stock. It also has 7.50% Fixed-to-Floating Series C Cumulative Redeemable Preferred Stock outstanding, and it raises equity through an at-the-market program.
The company is externally managed and advised by Invesco Advisers, Inc., an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of global investment manager Invesco Ltd. Updated
