Devon Energy Corporation (NYSE: DVN) is a U.S. independent oil and natural gas exploration and production company.

Its multi-basin portfolio is anchored by a large acreage position in the Delaware Basin (Permian). It also includes the Rockies, the Anadarko Basin and Eagle Ford assets, which are under agreement to be sold for $4.2 billion with closing expected in early 2027. Following its merger with Coterra, it also holds Marcellus Shale natural gas assets.

Devon produces oil, natural gas liquids and natural gas, averaging about 1.67 million Boe per day in Q3 2026. It also earns marketing and midstream revenues. Recently it acquired a 25% interest in the Solitude Pipeline System, which connects Permian gas to Gulf Coast and LNG-linked markets.

The company follows a cash-return model built around free cash flow generation. Returns come through a fixed quarterly dividend and share repurchases under an $8.0 billion authorization, while the company also pursues debt reduction and merger synergies. Updated
