Did VTR Beat Earnings? Q3 2025 Results
Ventas delivered a standout third quarter in 2025, posting earnings per share of $0.14 against a consensus estimate of just $0.05, a beat of 180.00%, while revenue of $1.49 billion topped the $1.44 billion estimate by 3.72% and climbed 20.4% year-over-year. The driving force behind the results was unmistakable: the company's senior housing operating portfolio surged, with same-store cash NOI growing 16% year-over-year and U.S. SHOP contributing 19% growth, fueled by a 270-basis-point occupancy expansion and improving margins from Ventas's proprietary operating platform. Net income attributable to common stockholders jumped to $66.05 million from $19.24 million a year earlier, a 243% increase, while normalized FFO per share rose 10% to $0.88. Management raised its full-year normalized FFO guidance to $3.45 to $3.48 per share and lifted its 2025 senior housing investment target to $2.50 billion, signaling confidence that secular tailwinds from an aging population and historically low new supply will sustain the momentum well into the years ahead.

“Ventas delivered strong financial performance and growth in the third quarter as we continued to execute on our 1-2-3 strategy. Results in the quarter were powered by our senior housing operating portfolio (SHOP), which experienced broad-based demand and grew organically year-over-year by double digits.”
