The house sits on only 0.83 acres and has only three bedrooms, three full baths and one half-bath. The price of this small house that overlooks Los Angeles is $23 million, perhaps because it was designed by the most famous architect in America history: Frank Lloyd Wright.

The house at 2607 Glendower Avenue sits across from the huge Griffith Park and the Griffith Observatory. That means no homes will be built behind it. The view south is of downtown Los Angeles and to the west Hollywood Hills. It is known as the Ennis House. Last week, it was the most viewed house on Realtor.com

The house was built in 1924. Wright was born in 1897 and died in 1959.

The seller’s overview:

One of the most iconic and important residential properties in America. Occupying a majestic Los Feliz hilltop with staggering views from downtown Los Angeles to the Pacific Ocean, this remarkable property has undergone years of thoughtful restoration at a cost of nearly $17 million. Brilliantly proportioned rooms flow effortlessly from one to another. 4 bedrooms (including guest apartment over garage), 3-~ baths, screening/billiard room, guest house and pool. It is both powerful and remarkably livable. There are only a handful of residential properties in the world as awe-inspiring as The Ennis House. Offered furnished.

The house is expensive compared to those around it. The median home sales price in the Los Feliz neighborhood is $1,612,500.

The cost of ownership? With a down payment of 20%, or $4.6 million, on a 20-year fixed mortgage at a 4.696% interest rate, the monthly payment would be $125,093. Of that, $23,958 is property tax.

At that price, there can only be a handful of buyers who want to live in a small house with a spectacular view.
