Markets in Asia were narrowly mixed.

The Nikkei rose .4% to 17,164. Bridgestone was down 1% to 2365. Canon was up 2.1% to 6290. Fuji Film was up 1.7% to 4870. Hitachi was up .4% to 821. Honda was down .2% to 4310. NEC was up 1.7% to 612. NTT was up .2% to 606000. Docomo was up .5% to 212000. Sharp was up 1.6% to 2185. Softbank was up 4.6% to 2930. Sony was up 2.8% to 6160. Toshiba was up 2.5% to 769. Toyota was up .3% to 7860.  Yahoo Japan was down .5% to 41500.

The Hang Seng was down. .2% to 19,135. Cathay Pacific was down .3% to 19.44. China Mobile was down 1.7% to 67. China Netcom was down 1.4% to 17.02. China Unicom was down 3.3% to 9.1. HSBC was up .1% to 136.7. PCCW was up 1.9% to 4.77.

The KOSPI was flat at 1,424.

The Straits Times was up .5% to 3,137.

The Shanghai Composite was up .3% to 2,938.
