Markets in Asia were mixed. The Nikkei fell 1.2% to 17,236. Canon (CAJ) rose .8% to 6710. Honda (HMC) fell 2% to 3990. NEC (NIPNY) fell 2% to 626. NTT (NTT) fell 1.8% to 597000. Softbank fell .9% to 2625. Sony (SNE) fell 1.4% to 6400. Toyota (TM) fell 1.9% to 7230.

The Hang Seng fell .5% to 20,481. China Life (LFC) fell .2% to 25.25. China Mobile (CHL) fell .5% to 73. HSBC (HBC) fell .1% to 144.4. PCCW (PCW) was flat at 4.71.

The Shanghai Composite was up .6% to 3,744.
