Asia Markets And Europe Open (1/5/2010)

Markets in Asia rose.
The Nikkei was up .3% to 10,692.
The Hang Seng was higher by 2.1% to 22,286.
The Shanghai Composite rose 1.2% to 3,282.
At the open in Europe, the FTSE fell .2% to 5,489. Cadbury (NYSE:CBY) fell as Nestle effectively dropped out of the bidding for the UK company by purchasing Kraf’t‘s (NYSE:KFT) pizza business for $3.7 billion
