November 11, 2014: Here are four stocks among the 86 equities making new 52-week lows today.
Discovery Communications Inc. (NASDAQ: DISCA) dropped about 1.2% today to post a new 52-week low of $31.87. The stock’s 52-week high is $46.38. The cable channel has drawn fire from animal rights activists for its planned broadcast of a man being eaten alive by an anaconda. Discovery last made our list a week ago after offering weak guidance. Trading volume was more than 35% higher than the daily average of around 3.6 million shares traded.
Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE: HLF) dropped about 2.4% on Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $37.23 after closing at $38.14 on Monday evening. The stock’s 52-week high is $83.51. Share volume is 40% below the daily average of around 2.3 million. The multi-level marketer of nutrition and weight loss products had no news today.
Michael Kors Holdings Ltd. (NYSE: KORS) posted a new 52-week low on Tuesday of $68.25. Based on Monday night’s closing price of $69.15 that’s a drop of about 1.3%. The stock’s 52-week high is $101.04. Trading volume is about equal to the daily average of around 3.6 million shares. Analysts at Jefferies & Co. today reiterated their Buy rating on the stock and affirmed their price target of $100. Didn’t seem to help though.
Vale SA (NYSE: VALE) posted a drop of about 3.1% today to post a new 52-week low of $8.76 against a 52-week high of $16.16. Volume is about 15% higher than the daily average of about 26 million shares. The Brazilian mining company tumbled on a forecast from Citi that iron ore prices will drop by double digits in 2015.
