Something Is Happening With Alphabet Stock That Wall Street Isn’t Talking About
Every payday I hit buy on Alphabet, and the valuation signal I keep seeing in a business this size is the kind of setup that makes me wonder why the crowd is still looking elsewhere.

I keep hitting the buy button on Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOGL | GOOGL Price Prediction) and I have no intention of stopping. Every payday, every dip, every quarter that closes with the machine humming louder than the one before. What pulls me back is a business that already prints cash at a scale most companies only fantasize about, trading at a multiple that feels borrowed from a different decade.
My Buy Button Keeps Firing for a Reason
Alphabet is compounding across four monetization engines at once: Search, YouTube, Cloud, and an autonomous driving unit crossing 500,000 fully autonomous rides per week. Q2 revenue landed at $119.8 billion, up 24.23% year over year, the 12th straight quarter of double-digit revenue growth. That is a compounding machine.
Three Reasons the Conviction Holds
First, Google Cloud is no longer a side story. Segment revenue accelerated to $24.77 billion, up 82%, with nearly 90% of the Fortune 100 now on Gemini Enterprise. Cloud backlog cleared $460 billion in Q1. That is contracted future revenue larger than the market cap of most companies I own.
Second, the ad flywheel is accelerating, not fading. AI Mode is driving higher overall query volume rather than cannibalizing ad inventory, and Search revenue climbed 17% while YouTube ads grew 13%. The Gemini App reached 950 million monthly active users, and Gemini models process 22 billion API tokens per minute.
Third, valuation. A P/E of 15 on a business with a 35.70% return on equity, a 32.03% operating margin, and interest coverage of 175x is the kind of setup I rarely find in mega cap tech.
Why Not Microsoft or Meta
People ask why I do not chase Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) or Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META) instead. Both are excellent businesses. Neither hands me Alphabet’s combination at Alphabet’s price. GOOGL still trades at a 15 P/E, well below where mega cap tech peers typically clear. And I get the growth alongside it: Cloud growing 82% and a debt-to-equity of 0.143 that keeps the balance sheet fortress-like even during the biggest CapEx cycle in the company’s history.
Risk I Own With Eyes Open
The real concern is capital intensity. Alphabet guided 2026 CapEx to $175 to $185 billion. Long-term debt climbed from $46.5 billion to $98.2 billion. Q2 free cash flow came in at negative $5.86 billion, and the buyback was suspended in Q2 2026. That would rattle me if I were watching a stretched balance sheet. I am not. Interest coverage remains 175x, and management just raised the dividend 5% to $0.22. Alphabet is funding the AI buildout from a position of strength, and the $49.6 billion equity raise plus $20.3 billion in senior notes gets deployed into infrastructure that already has Fortune 100 demand behind it.
What Keeps Me Buying
The stock is up 59.96% over the past year yet down 9.74% over the past month to $337.12. Even Warren Buffett’s Berkshire has taken notice, with CEO Greg Abel calling Alphabet a “significant player” in AI after growing the stake. I am not waiting for Wall Street to notice what I already see. The AI investment cycle is the reason my thesis exists (and the power, cooling, and networking suppliers riding the same buildout are the subject of a free report we put together here), and I plan to keep buying until the numbers stop telling me to.
