UiPath Tumbles 14% as Guided Slowdown Overshadows Revenue Beat
UiPath stock is cratering despite beating Wall Street's revenue target, and the reason sitting inside the forward guidance explains why investors who rode a 29% rally into earnings are now racing for the exit.

UiPath (NYSE:PATH | PATH Price Prediction) stock is sinking in Friday morning trading after fiscal second-quarter results delivered a headline beat but the forward guide implied a sharp deceleration. The reaction stands out on a session where large-cap tech is holding firm.
The Invesco QQQ Trust (NASDAQ:QQQ) is up 0.5% to $721.08, keeping the NASDAQ 100 comfortably green. Meanwhile, the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (NYSEARCA:SPY) is down 0.1% to $772.31. UiPath stock is down 14% to $15.69, unwinding a chunk of the rally that had UiPath shares up 29% over the past month through Thursday’s close.
Momentum had been squarely on UiPath’s side heading into the release, which set an elevated bar for the guide. Cutting the growth rate nearly in half for the coming quarter after a headline beat is precisely the setup that produces a re-rating morning like this one.
Guidance Overshadows a Clean Beat
UiPath reported Q2 CY2026 revenue of $410.3 million against a $397.9 million consensus, up 13.4% year over year, with adjusted earnings of $0.15 per share in line with estimates. Adjusted operating income landed at $89.03 million against a $75.22 million consensus, a wide beat that showcases the margin discipline management has emphasized all year. The company also lifted its full-year revenue guidance to $1.79 billion at the midpoint from $1.78 billion.
The problem sits in the coming quarter. UiPath guided Q3 revenue to about $442.5 million, implying 7.6% year-over-year growth, roughly half the pace just delivered. The pipeline picture is less clean, with UiPath billings of $375.5 million up 24.8% year over year on a slight miss to consensus, hinting the funnel isn’t refilling at the tempo bulls priced in during the run into the report.
Pegasystems Is the Read on Sector or Company
Pegasystems (NASDAQ:PEGA) is the closest listed comparison in enterprise workflow automation, and its July results flagged the same demand-hesitation theme when clients delayed purchasing decisions amid AI-market uncertainty. That backdrop colors whether UiPath’s soft Q3 outlook reflects a broader sector slowdown or a company-specific stumble in a business that had been re-earning its shine.
Friday’s setup points to the latter. Large-cap tech is higher on the session and the broad benchmark is nearly flat, so the punishment landing squarely on UiPath stock reads more like a company-specific reaction than a sector re-rating. Pegasystems management previously noted that delayed deals hadn’t disappeared from its pipeline, which cuts against the idea that enterprise automation demand has cratered wholesale.
The counterweight is that UiPath’s own commentary echoes some of the same themes Pegasystems raised, including customers pausing to evaluate build-versus-buy trade-offs on AI. If enterprises are freezing decisions across the automation space, the read-through for peers could firm up as more results roll in over the fall.
Leadership Reshuffle Reinforces the Trajectory Read
UiPath promoted Hitesh Ramani to Chief Financial Officer, kept Ashim Gupta as Chief Operating Officer, named Brad Brubaker Chief Legal and Administrative Officer, and appointed Yazdi Bagli to the board. Founder and Chief Executive Officer Daniel Dines stated the changes “position us to operate with even greater speed and accountability.”
Separating the finance and operations roles reads as an organization built for execution rather than expansion, which fits the softer growth trajectory embedded in the guide. It also hands Ramani ownership of the next several quarters, where credibility with investors on billings pacing and annual recurring revenue (ARR) trajectory will need to be rebuilt.
What to Watch Next
The next scheduled catalyst is UiPath’s investor day and annual user conference in Las Vegas, where management plans to detail its longer-term strategy and product roadmap. Any refreshed color on billings momentum, agentic pricing, or enterprise-automation demand could reset the narrative in either direction.
Investors considering UiPath stock at these levels can keep their position sizes modest until the Q3 report confirms whether the guide reflects conservatism or a genuine step-down in enterprise demand. Moreover, traders can watch for signs that Pegasystems is finding its footing on its own commentary, since that read on automation appetite may shape the next share-price move for UiPath shares as well.
