Prediction: Bloom Energy Has Limited Upside Despite 223% Year-to-Date Surge
Bloom Energy has soared over 400% in the past year on a wave of AI data center deals and blockbuster earnings, but our model sees a significant gap between where the stock trades and where the fundamentals actually point.
Bloom Energy (NYSE:BE) has become the poster child for the “bring-your-own-power” hyperscaler theme, with shares up 223.18% year to date on relentless AI data center demand. The stock now trades at $280.81, and our proprietary model says the run has gotten ahead of the fundamentals.
Our 24/7 Wall St. price target for Bloom Energy is $213.16 over the next 12 months, implying roughly 24% downside. Our recommendation is hold, with high model confidence of 90%.

Why We Could Be Wrong
Our 24/7 Wall St. price target sits well below where Bloom trades today, and I want to be upfront: this is one of the most divisive stocks in the market.
Real upside could come from continued hyperscaler order acceleration, or from the newly announced S&P 500 inclusion forcing index fund buying. Consider our price target one datapoint among many. A full bull case appears below.
A 411% One-Year Run Meets a Blowout Quarter
Bloom is up 411.4% over the past year and 33.23% just in the past week. Q2 FY26, reported on July 28, 2026, was a landmark. Revenue hit $1.07 billion, up 165.52% year over year and beating estimates by 28.82%. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.78 topped consensus by 91.83%, the fourth consecutive beat.
Management raised full-year revenue guidance to $3.90 billion to $4.20 billion. Countering the euphoria, several law firms filed securities class action notices with a September 28, 2026 lead-plaintiff deadline.
Bull Case: A Path to $300+
Bulls have plenty to work with. Brookfield expanded its financing commitment fivefold to $25 billion in June 2026. Total backlog sits near $20 billion, and CEO KR Sridhar noted “all major U.S. hyperscalers and more than a dozen U.S. neoclouds, AI labs, and colocation data center operators” have validated Bloom’s systems.
Bloom is one of the clearest pure-plays on the power side of the AI data center buildout, and we rounded up seven more suppliers benefiting from the same trend in a free AI infrastructure report. Guidance now implies operating margin around 21%.
Our model’s bull-case scenario points to $302.77 over the next year, and if hyperscaler order flow continues compounding, the stock could push toward that level, especially with S&P 500 inclusion driving passive buying.
What Could Go Wrong
The bear case starts with valuation. Bloom trades at a P/E of 333, and the implied forward P/E on our target still sits at 154. Insider activity shows 17 recent transactions netting to selling. Related-party revenue tied to Brookfield JVs reached $373.30 million in Q1 alone, creating customer concentration risk.
Multiple securities fraud investigations are active. Our bear scenario points to $165.41. It should be noted, however, that bulls would argue the Brookfield relationship is a financing feature that accelerates project deployment for end hyperscalers.
How Bloom Compares to GE Vernova and FuelCell Energy
GE Vernova (NYSE:GEV | GEV Price Prediction) is the natural scale comparison. GEV booked over $5 billion in data-center orders year-to-date, backlog reached $176 billion, and 2026 revenue guidance is $45.5 to $46.5 billion. GEV’s massive gas turbine business trades at profitable multiples, making Bloom look richly priced despite faster growth.
FuelCell Energy (NASDAQ:FCEL) is the direct fuel cell peer chasing the same data center theme. FCEL’s data center pipeline hit approximately 10 GW with a $3.6 billion committed capacity backlog, but Q3 FY26 revenue was just $33 million with a $0.64 loss per share. Bloom’s execution gap over FCEL is enormous and justifies a premium. Against this peer set, our $213 target looks reasonable rather than harsh.
Model Verdict: Hold With a Watchlist Trigger
My 24/7 Wall St. price target of $213.16 reflects a hold with 90% model confidence. The tipping factor is a forward P/E north of 100 even after our factor adjustments.
The setup looks more constructive if Bloom delivers another triple-digit revenue growth quarter and analyst forward EPS estimates get revised up meaningfully. Caution is warranted if the securities class action expands or hyperscaler order momentum shows any sign of cooling.
Looking further ahead, here is where our model projects Bloom could trade, assuming current growth trajectories and market conditions hold.
| Year | 24/7 Wall St. Price Target |
|---|---|
| 2026 | $267.29 |
| 2027 | $213.16 |
| 2028 | $176.84 |
| 2029 | $177.90 |
| 2030 | $164.90 |
These projections assume Bloom continues executing on its current strategy. Significant upside could result from sustained hyperscaler order growth, while downside risk centers on multiple compression as growth normalizes.
