Marvell’s 203% YTD Surge Sets High Bar but We See More Runway Ahead
After a 200-plus percent run this year, Marvell sits at a crossroads where one upcoming investor day could either justify its stretched valuation or expose a critical flaw at the heart of its AI growth story.

Marvell has become one of the most-watched names in the AI infrastructure trade, and the stock’s move this year reflects that. Marvell Technology (NASDAQ:MRVL | MRVL Price Prediction) trades at $257.78, up 203.78% year to date.
My question is whether the current hyperscaler capex cycle is already priced in. My 24/7 Wall St. price target for Marvell is $280.28, a modest step up from here.
24/7 Wall St. Price Target Summary
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Price | $257.78 |
| 24/7 Wall St. Price Target | $280.28 |
| Upside | 8.67% |
| Recommendation | BUY |
| Confidence Level | 90% |
My rating is buy with high confidence. Marvell has already re-rated dramatically, and the 24/7 Wall St. price target reflects a stock where the fundamental story is running slightly ahead of near-term valuation math.
A 203% YTD Run Sets a High Bar
Marvell has moved from around $84 in mid-January to $257.78 today, and shares are up 246.20% over the past year.
The Q2 FY2027 report, delivered August 27, 2026, gave bulls fresh ammunition: revenue of $2.739 billion (+36.55% YoY), non-GAAP EPS of $0.94, and Data Center revenue accelerating to $2.1715 billion, up 46% YoY and now 79% of total revenue.
Management raised both fiscal 2027 and fiscal 2028 outlooks and disclosed an expanded custom silicon partnership with Google, including a warrant tied to revenue milestones. Barron’s has flagged Marvell alongside On Semi and Semtech as a way to ride the AI data-center boom.
Why Bulls See a Path to $353
The bull case rests on durability. On the Q2 call, Matt Murphy said “AI-related bookings remain exceptionally robust” and guided fiscal 2027 to roughly $12 billion in revenue, with fiscal 2028 growth of approximately 50%.
Custom silicon revenue is expected to more than double in fiscal 2028. The bull scenario projects $353.41 over the next 12 months, a 37.02% gain, with analyst consensus target of $289.56 backed by 8 Strong Buy and 31 Buy ratings.
What Could Go Wrong
The bear case starts with concentration. Data Center is 79% of revenue, and the customer list is a handful of hyperscalers. If a top customer accelerates in-house silicon or delays a program, growth bends fast.
The Q2 EPS reading of $0.62 missed the $0.65 estimate. Bulls counter that the miss reflects heavy investment, including $1 billion of capacity prepayments to secure supply. The bear scenario points to $215.27, a 16.54% decline, if hyperscaler capex normalizes in 2027.
How Marvell Compares to Broadcom, NVIDIA, and AMD
Broadcom (NASDAQ:AVGO) is the most direct custom-silicon comparable, with a $1.69 trillion market cap and forward P/E of 19x. AVGO’s operating margin of 54.3% dwarfs Marvell’s, making Marvell look expensive at forward P/E of 44x.
NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA) trades at forward P/E of 25x with 63.7% profit margins.
AMD (NASDAQ:AMD) trades at forward P/E of 40x with lighter operating margins. The peer set makes the 24/7 Wall St. price target reasonable: Marvell’s growth rate justifies a premium, but not open-ended expansion.
Marvell Price Prediction 2026-2030
My 24/7 Wall St. price target of $280.28 implies a buy with 90% confidence. The setup looks constructive if the October 6 Investor Day confirms fiscal 2029 custom revenue in the $10 billion-plus range.
The thesis weakens if hyperscaler capex commentary softens into calendar 2027. The tipping factor is the Google warrant, which structurally aligns a top customer with Marvell’s roadmap.
| Year | 24/7 Wall St. Price Target |
|---|---|
| 2026 | $261 |
| 2027 | $280 |
| 2028 | $312 |
| 2029 | $312 |
| 2030 | $339 |
These projections assume Marvell continues executing on custom silicon and scale-up optics. Significant upside could come from the Google agreement’s fiscal 2029 ramp; downside would follow any hyperscaler in-sourcing surprise.
