If You Invest $1,000 in Meta Today, Here’s What It Could Be Worth by 2030
Meta is spending more than a hundred billion dollars on AI while free cash flow has cratered and earnings missed expectations, yet a five-year price model still sees your stake growing substantially. The question is which scenario plays out.

Say you put $1,000 into Meta (NASDAQ:META | META Price Prediction) and hold it until 2030. Our price model starts from a share price of $751.66. On Monday the stock traded near $719.83, down 4.24% for the session, as fears about AI overspending hit the shares.
That selloff came after a 25.03% gain over the past month. Meta deserves a forward look because it is growing ad revenue at nearly 30% a year while also funding one of the largest AI infrastructure buildouts in the market.
What $1,000 in Meta Could Become
Under the model’s main scenario, a $1,000 investment could be worth about $1,892.30 at the five-year horizon. That works out to 89.23% overall, or 13.61% a year. The per-share target behind it is $1,422.37.
The model produces one-year and five-year targets, so every concrete figure here is linked to the five-year horizon. That horizon ends about nine months after 2030 closes. For a year-end 2030 estimate, the forecast path places shares at $1,343.67, which would make the $1,000 stake worth roughly $1,787.60. Treat that 2030 figure as illustrative.

Bull, Base and Bear Scenarios for Your Stake
| Scenario | Five-Year Target Price | Total Return | Value of $1,000 | Illustrative Year-End 2030 Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bull | $1,731.49 | 130.36% | $2,303.60 | $1,585.73 |
| Base | $1,422.37 | 89.23% | $1,892.30 | $1,343.67 |
| Bear | $945.91 | 25.84% | $1,258.40 | $906.12 |
Over one year, the model’s base target is $931.99, an upside of 23.99%. The bull and bear one-year targets are $1,073.84 and $792.62. Model confidence is 0.9, rated high.
Wall Street is more cautious. The analyst consensus target is $790.27, with 8 strong buy, 47 buy and 7 hold ratings and no sells. It is a projection, not investment advice.
Three Drivers That Could Lift Meta Toward Its Target
An Ad Engine Getting Sharper With AI
Second-quarter ad revenue reached $59.36 billion, up 27%. Both volume and pricing increased: impressions rose 14% and average price per ad rose 12%. Meta’s apps reach 3.60 billion daily active people, and its Advantage+ tools passed a $75 billion annual revenue run rate.
Earnings Growth at a Reasonable Multiple
Analysts expect full-year EPS of $31.2122 this year and $34.0198 next year. The model uses a forward P/E of about 24x, compared with a trailing P/E of about 27. Management guided third-quarter revenue to $61 billion to $64 billion and expects full-year operating income to exceed 2025 levels.
New Revenue Lines Taking Shape
More than 1 million businesses use Meta business agents each week. Meta has also received “a large number of offers” for its compute at a premium. The chief executive said AI is “opening the door to entirely new enterprise opportunities.” AI glasses are a third growth line: they raised Reality Labs revenue 16%.
Risks That Could Shrink Your Ending Value
Heavy spending is the main risk. Meta expects capex of $130 billion to $145 billion this year (all of that expansion has to be powered, cooled and networked by someone, and we pulled together seven suppliers on the receiving end in a free AI infrastructure report).
Second-quarter free cash flow fell to $784 million from $8.55 billion a year earlier, and long-term debt reached $83.66 billion. Operating margin contracted to 31% from 43%.
Earnings momentum has also slowed. Second-quarter EPS of $6.18 missed expectations of $7.2214. Over the past 30 days, analysts made 45 downward revisions to full-year EPS estimates and only 4 upward ones.
Legal and regulatory costs add more uncertainty. The quarter included $2.40 billion in legal charges, and youth-related U.S. trials may result in material losses. Meta also faces EU pressure on Less Personalized Ads, and Reality Labs posted a $4.03 billion operating loss in the first quarter. With a beta of 1.24, the stock tends to move more than the market.
What to Watch Before Committing Your $1,000
Across the scenarios, a $1,000 stake in Meta ranges about $1,258.40 at the low end and $2,303.60 at the high end at the five-year horizon, with the base case at $1,892.30.
