AMD Stock Price Prediction: Is the AI Chip Opportunity Bigger Than Wall Street Thinks?

AMD has surged over 155% this year while a brutal week-long selloff raises a critical question: does the stock price already capture the full AI opportunity, or is Wall Street still sleeping on what comes next?

The 24/7 Wall St. price target for Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD | AMD Price Prediction) is $571.04 over the next 12 months. Shares traded at $546.68 at noon Thursday, so the target means 4.46% upside. Our model rates AMD a hold, and its confidence level is high.

24/7 Wall St. Price Target Summary

Metric Value
Current Price $546.68
Price Target from 24/7 Wall St. $571.04
Upside/Downside 4.46%
Recommendation HOLD
Confidence Level 90%

Our model ran off Wednesday’s close of $570.62. At that price the target sat right at fair value, and that is why the rating is hold. AMD is executing very well.

What matters now is how much of the AI opportunity the share price already reflects. In my view, the price reflects most of it today, but 2027 could show Wall Street was too cautious.

A Sharp Weekly Pullback Interrupts a Strong 2026 Rally

AMD has fallen 15.36% over the past week, including a 4.23% drop today, as the AI chip sell-off deepens. Earlier this week, new AI announcements failed to re-energize investors. Even so, shares are up 10.8% over the past month and 155.27% year to date. That leaves AMD about 17% below its 52-week high of $658.52.

AMD price scenario

The fundamentals back up the run. AMD’s second-quarter revenue rose 50.11% to $11.536 billion, and non-GAAP EPS of $1.66 beat the $1.6107 estimate. Data Center revenue jumped 107% and now makes up 58% of sales.

Why Bulls See $694 Within Reach

The bull case puts AMD at $693.71. The main driver is Helios, AMD’s rack-scale system, which is backed by gigawatt-scale commitments from OpenAI, Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META) and Anthropic. Management expects data center segment revenue to more than double year-over-year in 2027 and projects the AI accelerator market reaching about $1.4 trillion by 2030.

CEO Lisa Su said “customer pull for Helios is very strong and tracking ahead of our initial forecasts.” Wall Street agrees. Analysts include 39 Buy and 5 Strong Buy ratings, no Sells, and a consensus target of $636.21.

What Could Drag Shares Toward $451

The bear case is at $450.55. AMD trades at 154 times trailing earnings, Gaming revenue fell 31%, and export controls caused about $440 million in net charges in fiscal 2025. Free cash flow also dropped 9.89%.

That fall reflects capital spending, which jumped 186.52% as AMD increased supply. A PEG ratio of 0.626 also suggests growth supports the multiple.

Is AMD Pricier Than NVIDIA and Broadcom?

NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA) is AMD’s direct rival in AI accelerators. It posted $96.22 billion in quarterly revenue, up 105.85%, and trades at a lower forward multiple than AMD.

Broadcom (NASDAQ:AVGO) competes for the same hyperscaler budgets with custom accelerators. Its AI semiconductor revenue grew 221% to $16.70 billion.

Company Forward P/E Latest Quarter Revenue Growth
AMD 40x 50.1%
NVIDIA 25x 105.9%
Broadcom 19x 85.5%

AMD has the highest forward multiple of the three and the slowest recent growth. Against these peers, our 24/7 Wall St. price target looks reasonable.

AMD’s premium depends on the 2027 acceleration actually happening (we reverse-engineered what the biggest chip winners looked like early in a free playbook).

Helios Results Could Shift the Rating

The 24/7 Wall St. price target of $571.04 comes with a hold rating and 90% confidence. Valuation drives the rating.

The outlook would strengthen if Helios shipments and third-quarter results confirm that 2027 data center revenue will more than double. The outlook would weaken if the AI sell-off broadens or margins stall near 56%. For now, the model rating remains hold.

AMD Price Prediction 2026-2030

Year Price Target from 24/7 Wall St.
2026 $594.45
2027 $545.35
2028 $565.72
2029 $575.64
2030 $647.88

The projections assume AMD keeps executing its current strategy. In our bull case, the stock reaches $901.06 by 2030. The bear case has it falling to $437.81.
