Between October 6 and December 9, 2026, eleven significant events could influence Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC), XRP (CRYPTO: XRP), and the broader crypto market. These events include a Nasdaq listing, an upgrade to the XRP Ledger, two Federal Reserve meetings, and the upcoming U.S. midterm elections.

While most of these events might have little impact on prices, a few could significantly affect demand for both cryptocurrencies. So, which dates should crypto holders mark on their calendars?

October starts with Ethereum developers testing “Glamsterdam,” the next upgrade for Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH), on October 6. This testing occurs on the Sepolia testnet—a trial version of the blockchain where new code can run without risking real funds.

Evernorth is set to start trading on Nasdaq under the ticker XRPN on October 8, following the merger’s finalization. Shareholders approved the deal with about 20.5 million shares in favor, and the company holds 473 million XRP. This means stockholders can invest in a company closely tied to XRP through a standard brokerage account.

Later in the same week, the XRP Ledger could see a new update. Version 3.3.0 will reintroduce the Batch feature, which lets multiple transactions be bundled into one, and add Permission Delegation, enabling an account to delegate certain tasks to another account. If enough validators support the changes, these features could go live as early as October 8 or 9.

Token Unlocks, New CME Futures and the Fed Fill the Rest of October

On October 16, Arbitrum (CRYPTO: ARB) will unlock a monthly supply of 92.6 million ARB tokens. Following that, on October 19, CME Group (NASDAQ: CME | CME Price Prediction) will launch futures for Bitcoin Cash (CRYPTO: BCH) and Uniswap (CRYPTO: UNI), offering a regulated trading option for investors who can’t hold cryptocurrencies directly.

The Ethereum layer-2 network, Blast, will close withdrawals on October 26, giving users with funds left in the network a hard deadline to act.

The Federal Reserve will meet from October 27 to 28 and announce its rate decision at 2 p.m. ET on October 28. These rate decisions set borrowing costs across the economy and have historically affected Bitcoin and XRP prices. Just two days later, on October 30, the monthly Bitcoin options will expire, prompting many traders to close or roll their positions as the date approaches.

The Midterms, XRP ETFs’ Anniversary and the Last Fed Meeting Wrap Up 2026

On November 3, Americans will cast their votes in the midterm elections. Because Congress creates the laws governing digital assets, a change in control of either chamber could speed up or delay crypto regulations for both Bitcoin and XRP.

On November 13, U.S. spot XRP exchange-traded funds will mark their one-year anniversary, tracing the inaugural launch of the Canary ETF in 2025. This milestone will give XRP holders insight into traditional investor demand over the past year.

The Federal Reserve will hold its final meeting of the year on December 8 and 9, during which it will release new interest-rate projections. Traders will likely use this information to adjust their expectations for rate changes in 2027.

Which Bitcoin and XRP Events Could Move Prices the Most Before 2027?

The two Federal Reserve meetings, on October 28 and December 9, stand out as the most likely to affect Bitcoin and XRP due to their influence on borrowing costs. For XRP, Evernorth’s debut, the ledger upgrade, and the ETF anniversary are also noteworthy, alongside the October 30 options expiry for Bitcoin holders.

However, many dates may pass with little impact, so reacting to every event could lead to more trading than the news warrants.

The other events mainly concern smaller cryptocurrencies and affect Ethereum, ARB, BCH, and UNI holders more than Bitcoin or XRP. Nevertheless, an unexpected rate decision or a rocky start for XRPN could turn a quiet period into a turbulent time for both cryptocurrencies.
