Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) trades at $85,896, leaving it 7.4% above the critical $80,000 mark that macro investor Jordi Visser emphasizes. In a September 19 episode of The Pomp Podcast, Visser stated, “If bitcoin is below 80,000 by the end of October, there’s a problem.”

He wants to see Bitcoin above $80,000 on October 31. He further explained his view that once Bitcoin breaks through key resistance levels, it should continue on an upward trajectory.

Unlike many market analysts who offer vague predictions, Visser specifies both a price and a deadline. He is clearly focused on whether Bitcoin can hold above $80,000 until October 31, allowing anyone to evaluate the accuracy of his forecast by that date.

Returning to the podcast on October 3, Visser indicated that Bitcoin had already validated his bullish outlook. He noted, “When Bitcoin got above 82,000, that was the confirmation of the bull trend.” Visser believes Bitcoin’s underlying fundamentals are strengthening, suggesting it may be on the verge of significant growth.

However, it’s essential to recognize that he defined the $82,000 level after Bitcoin had already crossed it. Therefore, how Bitcoin performs on October 31 will ultimately determine the validity of his prediction.

Bitcoin Trades 7.4% Above Visser’s $80,000 Line

Recently, Bitcoin has shown strong momentum, gaining about 33% over the three months leading up to October 4. However, the growth rate has slowed down recently, with only a 2.3% rise in the past week. Currently, its price is just 4.7% above the $82,000 threshold Visser cited as confirmation. A drop of around 5% before the end of the month could challenge that bullish signal.

Additionally, Bitcoin trades slightly below its starting price for 2026 and is about 31% lower than it was a year ago. Although buyers have reclaimed much of the ground lost during the first half of 2026, they have yet to lift Bitcoin above its January price.

What Visser’s $80,000 Line Means for Bitcoin Holders and Traders

Visser’s focus is primarily on October, but even if Bitcoin closes above $80,000 on October 31, it could fall back below that level in November. His price point serves as a necessary support level, rather than a target Bitcoin must hit.

Looking ahead, Visser is optimistic about Bitcoin’s long-term growth. He mentioned, “I want an asset that will be growing in value for the next 30 years,” and identifies Bitcoin as the only asset he feels confident about for such an extended period.

A long-term holder of Bitcoin can weather the storm of a price drop below $80,000. Meanwhile, a trader with a position around that level would face immediate losses if Bitcoin dipped below it. Additionally, anyone who invested in October 2025 is still facing a 32% loss from the all-time high of $126,080, regardless of the outcome on October 31.

Will Visser See Bitcoin Above $80,000 on October 31?

Currently, Bitcoin appears poised to remain above $80,000 through October, trading 7.4% above this key level with 25 days left until the deadline. A close above $80,000 would indicate that Bitcoin has successfully avoided the “problem” Visser described. However, buyers who entered the market near the peak would still be dealing with yearly losses.

The $82,000 threshold also serves as an early warning. A drop below this confirmation level could undermine Visser’s bull signal before the deadline. In summary, as things stand, Bitcoin has sufficient momentum to meet Visser’s expectations, but the market remains unpredictable as we approach October 31.
