AI Price Prediction: We Asked ChatGPT Where Ethereum Could Trade by the End of 2026 After Its Biggest Buyer Stops.
Ethereum's biggest corporate buyer is weeks away from hitting its purchase limit, and ChatGPT has a specific price target for where ETH lands once that demand disappears. The answer depends on a ratio most investors are not watching.

We asked ChatGPT where Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) might trade by the end of 2026, especially as its biggest corporate buyer nears its purchase limit. The AI predicts Ethereum could settle around $2,800, with a range of $2,000 to $3,600.
The company in question, BitMine Immersion Technologies (NYSE: BMNR | BMNR Price Prediction), is a publicly traded firm that treats ETH as a reserve asset, much like cash. It currently holds 6,028,946 ETH, valued at about $15.1 billion, representing about 4.94% of the total Ethereum supply.
BitMine plans to stop purchasing Ethereum once it reaches 5%. With only 77,442 ETH, or about $193 million, left to buy, and after buying 12,532 ETH last week, BitMine is expected to hit this ceiling in about six weeks.
Ethereum is currently priced at $2,499, down 4.4% over the past week and 0.8% over the last 30 days. Throughout October, its price has fluctuated between $2,777 and $2,405. This puts Ethereum nearly 49.5% below its all-time high of $4,946 and 15.8% below its January 2026 opening price of $2,967. The question now is whether Ethereum can rise in value once this key buyer stops buying.
What Happens When BitMine Stops Buying Ethereum

If BitMine reaches its purchase limit and no other buyer steps in to fill the gap, ChatGPT predicts a potential 3% to 7% decline over the next month, with a midpoint of about 5%, or roughly $2,379.
Reaching this ceiling does not mean BitMine will sell its holdings. While purchases may stop, the decision to sell is separate, and the AI forecasts a sentiment shift in which traders might lower expectations simply because a reliable buyer has exited the market, rather than because supply suddenly increases.
ChatGPT anticipates that new buyers could include a mix of institutional investors, corporate treasuries, and individual traders, with no single group guaranteed to take the place of BitMine. Positive inflows from investment funds could offset the anticipated dip, highlighting the importance of monitoring fund activity.
Ethereum ETF Flows Could Decide Whether the Dip Arrives

Spot Ethereum funds in the U.S. hold ETH and trade like stocks, providing insight into institutional behavior. Recent data from SoSoValue indicated that these funds saw ten straight sessions of outflows from September 29 to October 12, then an inflow of $24.8 million on October 13.
According to ChatGPT, there’s a 35% chance these funds will finish October with net positive inflows. However, the single-day inflow is seen more as a pause than a trend reversal. Ten consecutive outflows signal ongoing selling pressure, and one day of inflow does not signal a change in momentum.
The funds currently manage $15.8 billion, including both investor contributions and price gains over their lifespan. Still, as ChatGPT points out, this does not necessarily indicate new investor returns. The sentiment could shift positively if there are three to five consecutive days of inflow, along with Ethereum outperforming Bitcoin.
ChatGPT Sees the ETH/BTC Ratio Recovering to 0.032

The ETH/BTC ratio indicates how much Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) one ETH can buy. Currently, the ratio stands at about 0.030, down 4.6% this week, with Bitcoin trading at $83,290. ChatGPT forecasts a modest recovery to 0.032 by year-end, reflecting an increase of approximately 6.7%.
This target focuses on relative performance, meaning Ethereum could outperform Bitcoin even if both decline in value. The AI views this as a tentative recovery and interprets the recent drop as a sign that a meaningful reversal has not yet begun. If outflows continue, it suggests the ratio could dip to between 0.026 and 0.029.
ChatGPT’s Chances for Ethereum Above $4,946 and Below $2,000

ChatGPT’s $2,800 estimate hinges on several factors: underwhelming performance against Bitcoin, BitMine approaching its purchase limit, and persistent fund outflows. However, developments in areas like tokenization (which allows real-world assets, such as bonds, to appear on blockchain) and increased adoption of stablecoins and AI agent activity could help boost Ethereum’s prospects. The AI reiterates that its projections are rough estimates and considers a return to the previous record price outside its 2026 range.
Over a more extended period, ChatGPT assigns a 25% likelihood that Ethereum could trade above its all-time high of $4,946 before the end of 2027—a potential increase of about 98%. The key condition is ongoing institutional interest, reflected in consistent net inflows. The AI believes that a price move driven only by sentiment would be less stable.
On the flip side, ChatGPT assesses a 35% chance that Ethereum might fall below $2,000 before June 30, 2027, signaling an additional decline of about 20%. In its view, a fresh wave of fund redemptions, coupled with a broader market sell-off led by Bitcoin, could trigger this downturn, especially if the ETH/BTC ratio continues to decline while outflows resurface.
Is ChatGPT’s Ethereum Price Prediction of $2,800 Realistic?
Overall, we believe Ethereum has a fair chance of reaching ChatGPT’s $2,800 price target by year-end, but the likelihood of reaching a record price in that timeframe is low. For ETH holders, tracking fund activity will provide valuable insights.
For Ethereum to climb to $2,800, it will likely need to hold above $2,379 after BitMine halts purchases, see funds post three to five consecutive inflow days, and watch the ETH/BTC ratio move closer to 0.032.
