2 AI Models Say Whether Hyperliquid (HYPE) Can Reach $150 Before the End of 2026

With HYPE surging toward its all-time high and a major Wall Street player eyeing its market, the path to $150 hinges on one factor that crypto markets have almost no control over.

Both ChatGPT and Grok say Hyperliquid (CRYPTO: HYPE) is unlikely to reach $150 by the end of 2026. HYPE trades at $95 following an impressive 18.3% surge in just 24 hours. This rise comes just as HYPE approaches its record high of $98, set on September 23, making the $150 Hyperliquid price prediction a significant leap.

Over 30 days, HYPE has fluctuated, closing as low as $76 and as high as $94.

A report says the Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE: ICE | ICE Price Prediction), the owner of the New York Stock Exchange, plans to launch a U.S. market for Hyperliquid perpetual futures—contracts that track a cryptocurrency’s price and have no expiration date. This initiative is being developed in partnership with trade(xyz), although it still awaits regulatory approval. Notably, billionaire investor Stan Druckenmiller backs the venture.

Despite the enthusiasm for $150—an increase of 58.4% from the current price—both AI models have provided their probabilities and year-end price estimates for HYPE.

What Would $150 Mean for Hyperliquid’s Market Cap?

A cryptocurrency’s market capitalization equals the coin’s price multiplied by the total number of tokens in circulation. If HYPE hit $150, its market cap would reach about $35.9 billion, based on 239.4 million HYPE tokens in circulation. In comparison, HYPE’s current market cap is about $22.7 billion, placing it 11th among all cryptocurrencies.

A significant challenge facing HYPE is supply dilution. HYPE’s market cap is only 0.25 times its fully diluted valuation—the potential value if all 1 billion tokens were on the market. As locked tokens become available, a $150 price would require a larger market cap, since fully diluted HYPE is valued at $90.1 billion now and could rise to $150 billion if the price hits $150.

Grok’s analysis estimates about 250 million HYPE in circulation, slightly higher than the count.

HYPE holders often look at Solana (CRYPTO: SOL) as a benchmark; Solana ranks 7th with a market cap of $59.9 billion. To match Solana at current supply levels, HYPE would need to trade at approximately $250, or around $240 using Grok’s estimates, which is based on Solana’s $60 billion market cap. At $150, HYPE would still be substantially smaller than Solana.

Catalysts That Could Push HYPE Toward $150

The primary catalyst for HYPE’s price growth is the ICE initiative, but this plan is still in its early stages and requires regulatory approval, with no specific date announced. Since August, Hyperliquid has lobbied U.S. regulators to allow regulated firms to offer perpetual futures on its blockchain. So far, the only market response has been the 18.3% price jump after the report.

Lookonchain, a platform that monitors large wallet activity on the blockchain, reported $52.7 million in whale long positions over five days, suggesting significant investment if HYPE rises. However, during the same period, whales also sold $53.3 million worth of HYPE, so buying and selling nearly offset each other, suggesting major holders aren’t significantly influencing the price.

HYPE is trading above its 20-day, 50-day, and 200-day moving averages, with average closing prices of $80, $85, and $66, respectively. ChatGPT estimates a 65% chance that HYPE will set a new record within 30 days, while Grok gives it a 62% probability. ChatGPT further notes that a quick price move above $98 is less valuable than a sustained breakout above that level.

Both AI models believe that HYPE is likely to remain below $150 in 2026. ChatGPT gives a 35% chance of closing above $150 by year-end, while Grok estimates 28%. Grok also mentions that reaching a price significantly above the record will require clearer progress in the U.S. market.

For year-end price predictions, ChatGPT expects HYPE to settle at around $115, while Grok anticipates $118. Both forecasts suggest gains from the current $95 price, though they fall far short of the $150 target. This $150 goal is a tougher challenge than the previous $90 target mentioned in an October 24 analysis.

If access to U.S. markets is further delayed or blocked, both models predict that HYPE could fall to as low as $55. ChatGPT describes $55 as a stress scenario, suggesting lower prices, while Grok points to lows in the mid-$70s, which aligns with the $76 closing price on October 25.

Can Hyperliquid Close Above $150 Before 2026 Ends?

HYPE is more likely to close 2026 below $150, with the probability of closing above it closer to Grok’s 28% than ChatGPT’s 35%. The rally’s primary catalyst still requires regulatory approval, and such approvals rarely align with the fast-paced crypto market. HYPE first needs to establish a stable position above $98, followed by a significant regulatory milestone, before a $150 target can be seriously considered.

If approvals come through before December 31, the $150 target may become a serious possibility, but any delay could push HYPE’s price lower, potentially testing the $55 mark. So does Hyperliquid’s $150 price prediction hold up? Only if approval arrives first.
