Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE) is a Fortune 500 company that designs, builds and operates digital networks and provides financial technology and data services across major asset classes. It reports three segments.
Exchanges: ICE operates futures, equity and options exchanges, including the New York Stock Exchange, along with clearing houses. These run some of the world's largest markets for trading and clearing energy and environmental products, plus agricultural and metals, interest rate and other financial derivatives. The segment also earns cash equities and equity options revenue, data and connectivity fees, and NYSE listings revenue.
Fixed Income and Data Services: This segment provides fixed income execution, CDS clearing, fixed income pricing, reference data and analytics (including index services), and data and network technology.
Mortgage Technology: Through ICE Mortgage Technology, the company offers digital workflow tools for U.S. housing finance, covering loan origination, closing solutions, servicing software and mortgage data and analytics.
ICE generates a mix of recurring subscription-based revenue and transaction-based revenue. It has agreed to acquire MarketAxess Holdings Inc., an electronic fixed income trading platform. The transaction has received HSR Act clearance and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027. Updated
