10,000 Sui or 100 Solana: Which Could Be Worth More by 2028?
With roughly $9,000 to invest, choosing between a stack of Sui and a stack of Solana comes down to competing risks that most crypto comparisons overlook, including inflation schedules, supply unlocks, and very different paths to a 2028 payoff.

A stack of 10,000 Sui (CRYPTO:SUI) costs around $8,800, while 100 Solana (CRYPTO:SOL) is priced at approximately $9,300. This small difference makes the Sui vs Solana comparison relevant for investors with a 2028 horizon and a budget of about $9,000.
SUI trades at $0.88, and SOL trades at $93. Both cryptocurrencies have faced challenges recently, with SUI dropping 24.9% over 30 days after trading near $1.21 on October 5, while SOL witnessed a 21.1% decline, falling below its $94 closing price from November 1, its lowest close in a month.
Investors are continually comparing these two cryptocurrencies because both are layer-1 blockchains. These foundational networks process applications and transactions directly. So, which stack, 10,000 SUI or 100 SOL, could be more valuable by the end of 2028?
What 10,000 SUI or 100 SOL Could Be Worth at the End of 2028

Price targets only really matter when they reflect actual market values, which are determined by the price multiplied by the number of coins in circulation. Currently, Solana ranks seventh by market capitalization at around $55 billion, while Sui ranks 30th with about $3.7 billion.
Here’s a breakdown of what each stack could potentially be worth by the end of 2028.
| Price at End of 2028 | Stack Value | Valuation at Current Supply | Valuation at Full Supply |
|---|---|---|---|
| SUI at $0.50 | $5,000 | $2.1 billion | $5 billion |
| SUI at $1 | $10,000 | $4.1 billion | $10 billion |
| SUI at $2 | $20,000 | $8.3 billion | $20 billion |
| SUI at $5 | $50,000 | $20.7 billion | $50 billion |
| SOL at $60 | $6,000 | $35.4 billion | No maximum supply |
| SOL at $150 | $15,000 | $88.5 billion | No maximum supply |
| SOL at $295 | $29,500 | $174.1 billion | No maximum supply |
| SOL at $500 | $50,000 | $295.1 billion | No maximum supply |
Currently, only 41.4% of Sui’s maximum supply of 10 billion coins is circulating. This means SUI’s price could rise significantly as more tokens become available. This situation often leads to supply dilution, where more coins compete for the same pool of buyers.
SUI reached an all-time high of $5.35 on January 4, 2025, when fewer tokens were in circulation. If it returns to $5, it could imply a $50 billion valuation at full supply, approaching the current worth of the entire Solana network.
In contrast, Solana has no maximum supply and continues to mint new SOL tokens as rewards for stakers. This ongoing issuance means that the market value predictions for SOL represent minimum values, as more coins will continue to be added.
Solana Cuts Its Issuance as Sui’s Unlocks Keep Adding Supply

Solana validators recently approved SIMD-0550 on August 28, which doubles the pace at which Solana’s yearly issuance of new SOL shrinks. The decision passed by a narrow margin and has implications for Solana’s future. After rising from a close of $73 on August 6, SOL hit a 90-day high of $122 on September 25 but has since fallen below its 50-day average of $109, suggesting the initial boost failed to sustain momentum.
On the other hand, Sui follows a defined unlocking schedule. The one-year cliff, a period during which tokens remain locked, ended in May 2024. Sui also provides staking rewards until the total circulation reaches 10 billion SUI.
Despite these unlocks, SUI has shown resilience, climbing from around $0.65 on August 18 to about $1.26 on September 27. However, it has declined by 62.3% over the past year and is currently below its 50-day average of $1.
The Price Levels SOL and SUI Need to Clear by 2028

For SOL to regain momentum, it likely needs to first overcome its 50-day average near $109, then break past $150, which would push 100 SOL to $15,000. Only then would the $29,500 value come into play.
SUI, on the other hand, needs to climb back above $1 and hold it to place 10,000 SUI at a target of $10,000. A price of $2 could elevate the stack’s value to $20,000, translating to a $20 billion valuation once all tokens are unlocked.
Both Sui and Solana face risks. If neither attracts buyers, their values could drop significantly. At $60, close to SOL’s one-year low of $62, 100 SOL would be worth $6,000, while at $0.50, 10,000 SUI could drop to $5,000.
Sui vs Solana: Which Stack Could Be Worth More by 2028?
In our analysis, we believe that 100 SOL has a better chance of being worth more than 10,000 SUI by the end of 2028. This is largely because Solana has reduced new issuance faster, while most of Sui’s supply remains locked up. The SOL option suits investors seeking a well-established network that has already taken steps to reduce supply, while the SUI option may appeal to those willing to endure some volatility for the potential of high returns.
However, this outlook could shift if SOL closes below its 200-day average of $89 while SUI breaks above its recent high of $1.26. Such movements would signal stronger demand for Sui despite its scheduled unlocks, which could change the dynamics of this comparison. Until then, the 100 SOL stack looks more likely to be worth more by 2028.
