$1,000 in Bitcoin or XRP: Which Is Worth More by 2030?
Both coins have slumped this month, but one sits much farther from its peak while the other has a stronger ETF story. Six 2030 scenarios show how a $1,000 bet could split, and why the bigger upside may come with…

Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) and XRP (CRYPTO:XRP) have both slid over the past month, and which can turn $1,000 into a larger sum by 2030 hinges on their recovery potential. Bitcoin is currently priced at $75,726, while XRP trades at $1.19.
Over the past month, Bitcoin has fallen 9.1%, from an $84,082 closing high on October 21 to a $76,006 close on November 5. XRP has fallen more sharply, down 16.3%, with its last close at $1.21.
Earlier on November 6, a $1,000 investment could have purchased either 0.0133 BTC at $75,430 or 847.46 XRP at $1.18. Investors are increasingly curious about which cryptocurrency might yield more by 2030. Because XRP has dropped further from its peak, it could have more room to recover.
What Could $ 1,000 Become Under Six 2030 Scenarios?

The table below outlines potential values for each $1,000 investment, based on varying price levels for 2030. Each row is a comparison level, not a forecast.
| Level | Bitcoin Position | XRP Position |
|---|---|---|
| Both coins remain steady | $1,000 | $1,000 |
| Each coin rises by 50% | $1,500 | $1,500 |
| Each returns to its all-time high ($126,080 / $3.65) | $1,671.48 | $3,093.22 |
| Bitcoin at $150,000, XRP at $3 | $1,988.60 | $2,542.37 |
| Bitcoin at $200,000, XRP at $5 | $2,651.46 | $4,237.29 |
| Bitcoin at $250,000, XRP at $10 | $3,314.33 | $8,474.58 |
When both coins move by the same percentage, their values stay equal, so a 50% uptick in each would bring both investments to $1,500. However, XRP outshines in the higher scenarios because it trades 67.4% below its $3.65 peak from July 17, 2025, while Bitcoin is just 39.9% below its $126,080 all-time high from October 6, 2025.
If both assets return to their peaks, the investment in XRP could grow to $3,093.22, while Bitcoin would rise to $1,671.48. Thus, the Bitcoin vs XRP debate is mostly about how far each coin has to recover. Our Bitcoin 2030 price prediction tests whether the higher Bitcoin price targets are realistic.
XRP’s Smaller Market Cuts Both Ways

A cryptocurrency’s market cap is its price multiplied by its circulating supply. Bitcoin’s market cap stands at $1.52 trillion, the largest in crypto, while XRP’s is only $75.29 billion, placing it fifth. Smaller market caps tend to swing harder in both directions, so XRP could recover more steeply than Bitcoin if demand returns. Our analysis of whether $1,000 in XRP could reach $10,000 by 2030 shows how steep that climb would have to be.
However, XRP’s volatility also brings risks. Over the last year, XRP has dropped 46.2%, while Bitcoin has fallen 25.2%. In the past five years, Bitcoin has gained 19.4%, while XRP has lost 2.8%.
Supply growth also raises the bar for XRP. Bitcoin’s new issuance gets cut in half on a fixed schedule through an event called the halving, while XRP’s circulating supply keeps growing as Ripple releases tokens from escrow.
Catalysts That Could Move Each Position by 2030

Bitcoin ETF Flows Have Flipped to Outflows
Bitcoin ETFs are exchange-traded funds that hold actual bitcoin and trade like stocks. In October, their flows tracked Bitcoin’s price. On October 21, the funds took in $528.4 million, as Bitcoin closed at its 30-day high of $84,082.
However, the trend reversed quickly, with a net outflow of $643.3 million on October 30 and another $430.2 million on November 5. Cumulative net inflows fell to $56.11 billion on November 5, from $57.96 billion on October 21.
Decline in XRP ETF Demand
U.S. spot XRP ETFs had $1.41 billion in net assets and recorded $1.81 billion in cumulative inflows by November 5. Buying has since dried up. The funds saw zero net inflows on November 3, 4, and 5, and their best day last month brought in only $8.43 million on October 29. XRP also trades below its 20-day, 50-day, and 200-day moving averages of $1.29, $1.38, and $1.27, another sign of sluggish interest.
Is Bitcoin or XRP a Better Long-Term Investment Through 2030?
In our analysis, XRP has the potential for greater gains, but it would require a much bigger recovery, which looks unlikely while demand for its ETFs stays near zero. Bitcoin shows lower upside gains, but it has a shorter distance to recover. Bitcoin must first reclaim its $82,003 50-day average and surpass its $105,951 one-year closing high before $150,000 seems plausible.
Similarly, XRP needs to regain its $1.38 50-day average and its $2.53 one-year closing high from November 10, 2025, before $3 becomes a reasonable target. If Bitcoin’s outflows continue and it falls below its $73,197 200-day average, even holding steady may seem optimistic for both coins. XRP’s warning line is its $0.99 closing low from August 16, 2026.
