There are a number of lists of the largest US public companies and the largest companies from overseas. These are published by several business magazines both in their print editions and online. The new 24/7 Wall St. Real-Time 500 updates market capitalization for the five hundred largest companies in America moment-by-moment. The reader can see this as often as he likes each time the screen refreshes. At the end of each trading day, the entire list is recalculated for the new market cap positions 1 through 500.
