The most popular Twitter (NASDAQ: TWTR) hashtags, usually dominated by celebrity names, breaking news, and common terms like “climate”, have expanded during the busiest part of the holiday season. A few products and e-commerce sites have moved into the hot trending list, which is likely to give them an advantage in terms of traffic, and/or show the topics in which people have been interest for some time.
Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL), which is already a brand with extraordinary exposure, has terms related to its product among the dominant hashtags on Twitter:
#ipad is on the poplar and trending lists according to Hastags.org. So is #ipadgames, and #iphone, and #iphonegames. The Apple’s iOS’s major competitor, Google’s (NASDAQ: GOOG) Android also does particularly well with #android and #androidgames.
Among retailers, Amazon’s (NASDAQ: AMZN) e-commerce power is evident. #amazon is on the most popular list. Unfortunately for the world’s largest retailer #walmart is not.
The names of the year end holidays also do well–#Christmas and #blackfriday
Trending down: #blackfridaydeals. The day, after all, is well under way. And, also falling #gcashblackfriday. Whatever that is.
