Markets in Asia rose.

The Nikkei was up 1.1% to 16,860. Bridgestone was up .7% to 2320. Canon was up 1.1% to 6210. Fuji Film was up 3% to 4750. Hitachi was up 5.2% to 856. Honda was up 1% to 4150. NEC was up 2% to 605. NTT was up 1.2% to 590000. Docomo was up .5% to 205000. Sharp was down .9% to 2165. Softbank was up 4.5% to 2890. Sony was up 1.7% to 5960. Toshiba was up 3.6% to 758. Toyota was up 1.6% to 7660. Yahoo Japan was down .1% to 39800.

The Hang Seng was up .7% to 18,971. Cathay Pacific was up .1% to 19.24. China Mobile was up 2.2% to 68.65. China Netcom was up 1.5% to 17.06. China Unicom was up 2.9% to 9.46. HSBC was down .5% to 134.3  PCCW was up .9% to 4.66.

The KOSPI was up 1.4% to 1,427.

The Straits Times was up 1.1% to 3,088.

The Shanghai Composite was up 1.6% to 2,952.
